Fabella Distribution Today

After a torrent of email correspondences among the Moms for Moms members, it was decided that today, the distribution of relief goods will happen at Fabella Hospital. Besides, the Moms for Moms “nerve center” was already swamped with goods, paid for with your generosity 🙂

*Rea could hardly walk around in her own home :D*

Crackers, Vitalac, Wow UlamsBoxes of Alcohol

Baby clothes bought from 48 Zodiac Street, Bel-Air Village Makati, and Manang Vicky who usually mans the baby clothing shop in the back of the house, was so generous and gave us a bag full of baby vests, as well as onesies to add to what we have purchased.

More purchased diapers today were delivered/ picked up.

Also clean t- shirts
And more bottled water and diapers.

At the agreed time of 1pm, the truck (free of charge!), through the kindness of Carlo Curay, began to be loaded with the goods. And thanks to YOU, OUR DONORS, we had relief goods ready for distribution for the Moms of the Neonatal ICU *NICU* babies and Kangaroo Moms Center *KMC* (similar to ICU), packs for babies’ use, as well as the affected staff of Fabella.

Here are the new moms, all 110+ of them. They are the recipients of YOUR generosity! 🙂

The very kind social worker at the hospital as well as hospital staff helped unpack the bags from the boxes
Edna was ensuring each Mommy bag had bottles of water as we had to pack the water on- site.

Rea was giving away 2 kg bags of rice to each mom

Dexter and Cassie were responsible for the distribution of the baby packs, also making sure each bag had bottled water (for the babies).
Distribution was very orderly. The social worker had a list of the names of the moms and their babies who were recipients, so there was really no chaos. Fabella handled it so well.

Everyone had a good workout– check out the rosy cheeks of Edna and Rea. After the distribution was over, Rea said to us, “This is just the beginning”. Rea is really a superwoman who had barely slept the night before, making sure logistics for today’s distribution was problem-free. And indeed, it went very smoothly, thanks to her, and to these people whose photos you see here.

Anyway, much to do still. The group is aiming to pack for 500 more moms, so if the storm isn’t too strong (we pray it isn’t), the team will gather again at Rea’s to repack goods tomorrow. To the people who worked their buns off to ensure that the relief goods distribution went smoothly (Rea, Edna, Cassie, Dexter, and the Fabella staff), I have so much respect for you all. I’m really so humbled by your unconditional desire to help.

And lastly (and the MOST IMPORTANT of all), if it weren’t for YOUR generosity and sympathy, dear reader, this relief operation wouldn’t have been possible, so again, THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of our donors!

More updates in the next few days. In the meantime, please stay dry and safe. And please pray for our country! I really hope the storm isn’t going to do more damage. The Guy Up There knows our fellowmen can’t take any more pummeling. 🙁

P.S. A BIG thank you to HC for your Php 10,000 pledge! Also thank you so much to LDavid for the $105 donation! Our Fabella- Relief Fund now has a total of Php 411,725. (Paypal donations in USD have been converted to Php). Also a BIG thank you to Dex’s friend, GC (we turned over your pledge to the Moms for Moms fund :D).
