Event Blog: Philippine Cancer Society Ball

I feel so privileged to have attended the Philippine Cancer Society’s Best Dressed Ball this year because one of our travel mates was selected as one of the best dressed. My friend Rodina and I arrived late at the event *my bad* because I got stuck poring over a contract in French and it really set me back by over an hour. So my appointments had to be pushed back and as a result, I was late!a

The ball was hosted by one of the country’s best hosts, Johnny Litton.

Wonderful host of the night!

And here’s one of the best dressed women, the belle of the ball 🙂

Dramatic!
Salome wore a ball gown by Jun Escario, and later changed into a bright orange ensemble, also by Jun Escario.
Stunning woman!

Other women who were part of the best- dressed list are Ponds global PR manager and  print- runway model, Apples Aberin, who wore Randy Ortiz

She’s stunning!!!

Dr. Anna Palabyab Rufino. She’s so pretty 🙂

Restaurateur Beng Dee, also one of the best dressed awardees, was late for the event. But I think she came back from the airport today 🙂

Love her gown!

Another awardee wore Cary Santiago. Would love to have something made by Cary one day.

I wouldn’t go for the “wings” but it looked good on the awardee. The details on the dress are amazing though!!

And then there were our travel mates who came in full support of our friend 🙂

Travelmates! Jetsetter ClaudetteV in Inno Sotto, Accessory Lab designer RodinaV wearing a gorgeous bib necklace made of amethysts and citrines, svelte women FinaL & JulieP, and Chicken Man StevieV
AmeliaTing and AnnPuno
*Hahahaha we gals were all forced to wear gowns, so we will send Salome the bill hahahaha*
This was what I decided to wear to the event– my off-the-rack Jun Escario lace “wedding gown”. I wore the gown with my Melissa boots– yes, those rubber boots hahaha! Just because! 🙂
I wore 2 clear quartz bangles from Accessory Lab

Now I was tempted to put my hair up to achieve that “newlywed blushing bride” look but figured who am I fooling? Hahahaha 🙂

Anyway, I saw women carrying beautiful bags, including ones by Joanna M. Lhuillier (which I featured a few days ago). And then there was this bag which was just full of character!!

Saw so many awesome people last night which included Mega Magazine editor Sari Yap (loved her black and white gown!!), Frannie Jacinto, whose emerald earrings were just sooo va-va-voom, Tessa Valdez (whom I saw wearing a tiara :D), F.A.S.H. correspondent and PR man Ferdi Salvador, Felix and Grace Ang of CATS Motors (they outbid me for that Ramon Orlina glass sculpture hahaha), TV5’s Martin Andanar, and so many other noteworthy guests (I wish I took a photo, but I bought new lens for my camera and hoomygosh I was carrying the camera the whole night and my arm just ached biiiig time *arthritic hahaha*)
Anyway, it was a fantastic event. The auction went so well, and good money was raised for the Philippine Cancer Society. To the awardees of this year’s Best Dressed Ball, congratulations!! 🙂
