DiVa Accessories Hit Front Page + Luella Bartley

I am soooo proud of my friend D! 🙂

I was with DH at a bookstore, poring over the magazines, when I saw the July issue of Lifestyle Asia. Singer ZsaZsa Padilla was on the cover. Sure, she is pretty. But what really caught my eye was what she was wearing around her neck.OHMYGAWD, it was the DiVa necklace!! I had to blink again to make sure it really was D!‘s necklace. I bought the magazine, ripped open the plastic right by the counter, and flipped the pages to look for the cover story.

OHMYGAWD it IS the DiVa necklace– AND the DiVa bangle!! I am just sooo proud! My friend D! has made it, made it!! It was sometime last year when she made these accessories out of her love for them, and now, she is a serious accessory designer! D! Backtrack to last night– DH and I had our Friday night date *after a one week hiatus* and we dined in Glorietta. I met up with another baghag JY (hey girl, love your damier bag!) first before meeting up with DH. So during our conversation, he lamented that my phone looks really bad (which is sooo true and many people can attest to it. My phone case is all scratched up, banged, and it looked like I dropped it in a cauldron of hot soup *hehehe*). We both decided, ok we’ll go to the “basement” to look at new cases. Many would be quick to attest that I am too cheap to change the case. I would say I’m broke (well shucks for phone casing, I am broke *hehe*).

Within the next few minutes, I picked out a color (pale blue), got the thingie changed, and also paid for a crystal case for the phone. Total expenses: Php 200. Not bad (but hey that’s a meal!). My phone looks real cheesy now with that crystal case, and I just know that I won’t be able to maintain its pristine look (maybe just for a few days). But whatever. At least I’m not nearly as big a walking embarrassment as I was a few minutes before the change 😀 *teehee*

Our dinner date happened at this tiny nook called Spaghetti Factory. I ordered the Spaghettini Italian Mafia *cute name* which had Italian sausages, olives, tomatoes, and bell pepper. It was really good! DH had the mushroom cream fusili. Our meal only cost us Php 440 (and that included drinks!)!! We were full, but hey let’s throw caution to the wind and have something sinful, I told DH *snicker don’t get any wild ideas*

We went to Iceberg apres our meal, where I had halo-halo (Paz, get your bootie back here and let’s binge on halo-halo!) and he had Kahlua ice cream sundae. Ugh, of course we both regretted eating so much later on. But what a great cheap date that was 🙂

Today, baghag FA sent me an email with this photo. (photo taken from Glamour magazine, August 2006). There it was, the bag. Sitting smugly at the bottom of the page. A plum, quilt chain bag. Like my Chanel. It’s a Luella Bartley Boxy bag. And it’s selling for £425 (a bargain compared with Chanel!) at Harvey Nicks and Harrods! *Sniff* You mean I could’ve gotten this plum LB bag and saved up money, but instead got myself that Chanel which cost me an arm and a leg and a possible educational plan of kid #1? *Choke choke* Man, this is depressing! *haha*. But in all honesty, that bag would’ve made a great alternative! 🙂 *meanwhile I am officially wallowing in guilt hehe*

Ugh. Well, I have one thing to look forward to today, and that’s meeting my friend KO’s cousin, CL. So I better get myself ready for the meet-up 🙂
