Dining out on Mother’s Day

Everyday is a special day for mom, but if you have a lot of kids that you are planning to bring to treat Mom out, you might want to consider lunch at two of these restaurants. Both restaurants are located at the Mckinley Hill Piazza (very near Blue Leaf Pavilion) .

Tokyo Cafe!

I love Tokyo Cafe. I had dinner here two nights ago, and I would definitely bring my friends and family here often.

I like: the hamburg steak (with mushroom gravy). It was yummmy! What a guilty treat– but no, no regrets please 🙂 It was really good! 🙂

Priced under Php 200 (what a great deal!) * Plus, the kids will love this too!*

Chicken in a Basket: 5pcs cost Php 305. I loved the chicken. My mom and my kids + DB’s kids loved it too. It was nice and crunchy, and very flavorful!

Must- try drink: Iced Royal Milk Tea (Php 68)

I don’t however, recommend the pizza as it was rather bland. The carbonara pasta though, was a winner– again this was a dish your kids would love.
They also have light rice meals like the Omurice and Loco Moco, priced at under Php 150.  Another thing I liked about Tokyo Cafe? Authentic Japanese music! 🙂
Tokyo Cafe can be reached at (632) 403-6844/45.
Another restaurant worth bringing la grande famille to is the My Thai Kitchen- My Bar- Pho Hoa three-in-one restaurant, just across Tokyo Cafe.
My all- time favorite Pho Noodle Soup with tendon, flank, meatballs never failed to satisfy, spring rolls, as well as chicken drummettes are worth coming back for, again and again. My Thai Kitchen has yummy curries, as well as pad thais and well, another favorite, Tom Yum soup! 🙂
Go visit these restaurants at the McKinley Hill Piazza 🙂
Now if you want to treat Mum to a fancy dinner sans the little kids, here are my top 3 picks:
  • Elbert’s Steak Room *excellent USDA prime grade beef– unparalleled!* (632) 339-3363
  • Melo’s Burgos Circle *or if you fancy some extremely delish wagyu steak* (632) 403-5968/69
  • Paseo Uno, Mandarin Oriental Manila Hotel *buffet! Need I say more?* (632) 750-8888
Alrighty peeps, I am off to Boracay (yes, this is my FIRST time in Boracay! EVER!!) for some  last minute R&R before May 10, election day. I am happy *and hehehe.. beaming proud :D* to share that I will be working during that day and maybe onward with Al Jazeera, whose team is already in town to cover the Philippine elections. (Yay, I get to relive the life of a journalist again 😀 *excited!!*) I hope all goes well and I hope I get my media accreditation in time.  Crossing my fingers that a very good friend can help facilitate!

P.S. to answer query of a poster regarding “PR related” endorsements, let me say this now that all the above-mentioned posts are NOT PR related– I was never paid to mention their restaurant names, so you can rest assured that these are all based on my personal experience, hence my recommendations 🙂
