Designer Bags for Less! And They’re Brand New!

I’m finally online again. Still not in excellent, tip top shape, but I am definitely much better than a day ago. I spent the whole day in bed again yesterday, in and out of sleep. Today, I wasn’t up and about yet, although I felt much better. My body is still quite weak, and for some reason, my hands are very “shaky”– I’m thinking it might be because of the very high dose of antibiotics I’m taking, or the steroids in the nebules (either or both contribute to it… crap I’m just making myself feel that it’s normal, so bear with me). I have the occasional palpitations but they’re pretty sporadic. Thank God I’m better.

So I’ll keep this post short and sweet because I don’t want to get dizzy spells again (this is what I’ve been getting a lot of). Today, I was thinking that while there were plenty reasons for the high prices of designer handbags, there is not ONE good reason that justifies its price. It’s all a marketing hype (oh My Gawd I’m becoming a bag Scrooge!!!!! haha). But really, if you have a “tight” budget, you can still get a designer bag!

Marc by Marc Jacobs Puffer Tate Tote. I love this bag, and look, it doesn’t even cost US$200! It’s US$168 at neimanmarcus.com. And, it’s still an MJ bag at the end of the day, right? I’m thinking I can actually ditch my lust for another expensive bag for this tote! It won’t set me back by a millennium financially, plus it won’t make me compromise quality for price 😉

Anya Hindmarch Medium Python Satchel for Target. Hey, it may not be real python (it’s PVC)– it’s just US$44.99, but it’s still an Anya Hindmarch, a not-too-distant relative of Anya Hindmarch’s own Naplac (which sells for US$1,170 at SaksFifthAvenue.Com). So which would you get? Honestly, I’d go for the Anya-for-Target bag. After all, this is not really one of those “classic” bags that you’d want to keep for your children one day. And even then if you do want to keep it for your kids, the PVC can be handed down, as long as you maintain it well! The Anya-for- Target bag is available at target.com

Sigh, while I would’ve saved a bundle in the end, I still lust for the Valentino Fango Petale Bag, US$2,450 at saksfifthavenue.com.

*Huge sigh* Sometimes, life is just not like a rose…. all the better reason to carry one to make life like one 😉
