Contemporary Artist in Versailles

French born Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos shows her contemporary works of art (think Jeff Koons proportions) at the Chateau de Versailles.

There were some more pieces in the gardens although we were no longer able to see it up close because the gardens had to be closed for some event 🙁

I must admit I’m not one who knows her artists (as much I’d like to claim that I am *cough* cultured lol),  but I do love the idea of the Palace of Versailles playing host to contemporary art. I think it’s the perfect venue for it– the juxtaposition of something historical and old against something new and modern.

It has been raining in Paris. Hopefully we’re able to see more sights without getting wet! Alrighty, time to get ready for today 🙂  Looks like it will rain again, though hopefully only sporadic!

P.S. Thank you CV Travel for arranging our Versailles tour at the last minute 🙂 Looong lines when we got there and we skipped it 🙂
