Bags at Saks Fifth Avenue– BAG REVIEW

My day was so much better than yesterday. Today, I got to take my baby to another doctor, who gave a different diagnosis from my other pediatrician’s. My child was given different (and presumably stronger) medicine to take care of the ails. I really hope this works out now, but somehow just having gone to another doctor for a second opinion really calmed me down. My child has viral pneumonia with respiratory tract infections. It was pretty serious and if my baby’s appetite does not improve, doc says hospitalization might be something we should look into (sorry for ending the sentence in a preposition.. hehe I know some readers can be anal about my English).

Anyway enough sadness today. I think I better give my readers something to really “read” about again. Mrs.T ain’t thebaghag if there is no bag talk. And bag talk it will be today 🙂

I found a friend in Mrs.J today, whom I met an hour later than I had promised. I was so grateful that she was sympathetic toward my child’s situation (hence my tardiness). Not only that, she was genuinely concerned and understanding of the whole drama (I almost cried too. Yes, I felt so guilty and helpless, and felt that I was such a poor mom because I couldn’t do anything about my child’s condition). She did not only console me, she also made me smile and brought back the blabbermouth hag in me. She brought out this awesome album (see photos of bag below her bag) which had photos of her BAGS!!!
Ok I was immediately transported to another world right there. Zing zang zoong! I got totally excited and just blabbed away 🙂 Lookie at her beeeeyooootiful Goyard Jeanne GM bag. I am soooo loving that shape and can’t wait to have my blue one (yes I ordered one haha, couldn’t resist!). Mrs.J has amazing photos– I am so in love with her Paul Smith bags and her MiuMiu faux crocodile hornback embossed leather bag. She has excellent taste in bags and is totally worthy of the title “BAGHAG”!! 🙂 Mrs. J, you rule!! *cowtow*

So now, after having done some more work (the Imelda Collection launch is officially just 7 days away!!), I am ready to do some bag- sleuthing online 😀

Saksfifthavenue.com is a site that I have not visited in ages! And how glad was I to find that they have new bags? VEWY VEWY glad! *wolfwhistle*

Gustto bugatti shaped bag. At US$645, this is quite a good bag. Leather looks soft and buttery and we just love this classic shape. It sorta reminds me of that patent leather Marni bag, which I am also liking. But hey, this bag has an exterior pocket, making it a winner!

Gustto lorso big baca satchel. I love cream bags but I can get pretty icky with them because they are very high maintenance (especially if you are a denim wearing gal). Except for my Goyard bags in white, I have never really been able to maintain the original color of cream bags. You’ll see color transfers within days of my using the bag. But if you don’t wear much denim, then this might be a good bag for you. Priced at US$760.

Kooba Audrey clutch. Oh someone save me from falling into a clutch wormhole. I have had this fairly manageable obsession with clutches. But I can sense going overboard soon by hoarding clutches. I love this clutch. But I know it’s a tad bit impractical (ok it’s really not practical), seeing I hardly attend parties, plus I carry my house inside my bag most of the time– duh, meaning I can’t fit anything into this bag. It’s just that I’m loving this. There’s a cuteness factor to that zipper in the middle. (Looks like an inverted bra :D) Too cute at US$285.

Furla Yolande crocodile-embossed leather shopper. The top part of the bag reminds me of the Hermes Bolide (in a small way). I like the shape of this bag, how they managed to “pleat” the faux crocodile leather to add to the texture of the bag. Having a croc- embossed bag can look pretty monotonous after awhile (all croc scales end up looking the same if you’ve seen far too many of them), but this bag definitely has that oomph to keep it from being boring! US$455 for this lovely bag.

Ok hags, time for me to check on the kiddies and then get shuteye. There is still much to do tomorrow, i.e. see clients whom I have sorta neglected (soooorrrryyyy) because of my day job (which I am so loving too). I promise I’ll give my time after the event is over 😀

P.S. JD thanks. I’ve tasked my former college professor, who is also a business writer and publisher, to let me know if I used the word “peaked” incorrectly. But for now, thanks for shedding more light on the proper use of that word against “piqued”.
