Baghag HOG at it again *Foodfest!* + bag review

Wheee– this trip has been nothing but a foodfest. Thank you all for enjoying the food pics! If you hags were all with me, we’d all enjoy it (and you would’ve all helped a great deal in making sure that the fats derived from all this eating, would be distributed amongst us equally hahaha) 🙂 *I’m baaaad hehehe*

Ooh I got a message saying that today is Metro Wear (fashion show) over at The Loft at Rockwell at 6:30pm. This is Metro Magazine’s once a year must-go fashion event. If you peeps are in Makati area and have the time, would be great if you can all pop over to see the most recent collections of the Philippines’ top fashion designers.

So no I didn’t go to Neiman Marcus for Manolo Blahnik‘s signing. You gotta buy the shoes first before he will sign it, and no, bringing your old Manolos won’t really do– otherwise I would’ve already done that, hehe. Well, I have no more money to buy Manolos so why go? *Boohoo!!!* (I should be flogged for whining like this) Sigh, I will just have to live vicariously through my friend LPT who saw the shoemaster himself at Houston. (Ok the other real score is that DB and I woke up at 3pm and lingered around watching trash tv *hehe pigs* and we didn’t get out of the house til 7:30pm… So forget Burberry’s party too *PFFFFT*)

Err… forget you read that last sentence *hehe*. I give the word Baghag Hog a new meaning. Literally. Ugh I can be such a pig, I swear I don’t know how I can live with myself sometimes *shudder poor DH hahaa* Ok, since this blog has lately been focused on travel and well, food *cough Mrs.T is an oinker!*, let me add more food photos then (carpe diem peeps, eat, be full, and be merry! Talk about the calories tomorrow! Pfffft).

Broadway Prime is located at 235 Broadway Street, Burlingame. They are famous for their aged beef. I have not eaten steak since arriving SF *(let’s not mention all that steak binge at Myron’s back in Rockwell hehe) I figured if I am going to, it better be good (or it won’t be worth the fat I’ll be earning!).

We got there at 9:30pm already. And the place was still packed. Apparently the host said she would not have been able to accommodate us had we walked in 30 minutes earlier. We can see why.

Peeps come here for Le Boeuf! Prime Rib Peninsula Cut (the petit cut) with creamed spinach and creamed corn. Price tag: US$27. (WAYYY cheaper than a bag, and gives you INSTANT satisfaction haha)

Was it worth it? YES!!!!

I will earn 10,000 calories from this meal, but by golly I will eat every single ounce of FAT in this meat. It’s too good not to. (Like I said, let’s worry about that damn calorie counter tomorrow).

Oh here’s something real funny. I took this before we left the house. DM said I was not only collecting Goyard bags (DM, I’m NOT collecting them… when I get the moolah to do it, I will haha), but also collecting Goyard PAPER bags! *Hmm you know what, the thought of collecting Goyard paperbags sounds like a pretty noble idea– it’s cheaper hahaha* By the way, that biggest paperbag can fit my baby inside *seriously!!*

And lastly, here’s something to ponder. Are we liking the patent Chanel classic quilted bag in the longue JPG birkinesque style? I’m seriously taking a weird liking to the bag, although any thoughts of wanting to buy it will have to be placed on hold until I get out of my own financial dark age *hehe sad eh?*.

Speaking of JPG (Jean Paul Gaultier), hello there– Material girl Madge has been seen carrying JPG’s trench bag. The bag really looks like a trench coat– has a buckled belt and flaps! Forget it in black, wouldn’t this be so much nicer in camel? This is the bag Mrs.T likey likey!! 🙂

By the way I can now be reached at (+63916) 758-0857. I haven’t had any cell signal at my place for so long (I live in the boonies), but I decided to leave my phone by the kitchen and hey whaddayaknow, there’s a signal there (and boy did all the messages pour in haha).

  1. I really don’t dig the trench tote. I know the belt is there to make it look like a trench coat but it looks so out of place. Now the patent Chanel is more like it……more pleasing to the eye 🙂

  2. I couldn’t help but notice that gorgeous prime rib you had…If you miss it in Manila, I’d suggest heading over to Gulliver’s in the Great Eastern Hotel (aka Aberdeen Court) on Makati Avenue. They make a mean prime rib with traditional sides of spinach souffle, creamed corn, Yorkshire pudding. Served au jus of course. It costs roughly the same as what you had in the States for a regular cut, I believe. And this resto actually started in…San Francisco. =) – notsolillulu
