Bag Review: Tila March

I have to thank YellyWelly from Twitter because she introduced this brand to me. And I’m not ashamed to admit I really don’t know everything there is to know about bags– I learn something new about them everyday! And this brand is a prime example of those “new” things I learned 🙂

So what’s it about Tila March? The brand began in 2006 when French Elle fashion editor Tamara Taichman found herself searching for a good bag that would “take her through her busy days” without sacrificing her playful and feminine style for Paris Fashion Week. Contacting a manufacturer, Tamara created her own bag– an ultra- light and chic tote in canvas- leather combination which has a snap enclosure that allows the bag to shrink or expand in size. The bag came to be known as the Zelig bag,
and is Tila March’s signature bag. Because fellow editors and prestigious retailers took notice of her bag, Tamara became encouraged to produce the bag for the succeeding season.  Tila March was born– Tila is a name that is a cross between that of her own, and of her business and life partner Nicolas Berdugo. March is the month when Tamara and Nicholas met. (I think it’s so sweet to include that in the brand name).  *source: Tila March Biography*

Apart from the Zelig tote which I also like, I am loving the Audrey tote below. This again, like the Zelig, is made from leather and canvas.
I’ve already been loving leather- canvas bag combinations, so this bag is no exception to my loving them. This bag gets high marks also because of the color combination– it’s neutral but it’s definitely not boring. Those buckles give the bag that extra “oomph” too! The size would make it an ideal bag to carry for work (especially if you bring home work files)– and is also perfect for travel. This bag can store reading material! And with gold hardware buckles as accents? Perfect!
There’s also the Katie Canvas tote. A gorgeous aubergine color with a nice touch of apple green .
It’s really quite striking and would be the perfect bag for color- blocking. This bag is really so on-trend!  It’s great too that the canvas part of the bag is in a darker shade, to mask dirt. I’m also liking this bag a lot.  It’s not busy, and is definitely an eye- turner!
For more information, visit the Tila March website. Some of the bags are already sold out, but I think you can contact them for further information. This is a great brand and something I’d definitely be on the lookout for!
