BAG REVIEW: Hermes Spring/ Summer 2007

Ahhh it is truly time for the Spring Summer 2007 shows, and time for us to sigh (with relief if we dont like the bag collections) or shriek (with excitement if we like em * and then we sigh immediately thereafter when reality hits– how to pay for the bag we likey?! Hehe*) once more!

Hermes is discontinuing the Jean Paul Gaultier shoulder birkin, so we were all clamouring to find out what takes its place. And this was JPG’s answer.
A redesigned Kelly that’s foldable and tied down to become a clutch. Now, while the idea is quite noble, I can’t help but wonder how I will access my phone when it rings…

Do I wrap my phone together with the bag, or do I unwrap the bag to get my phone? 🙂
Hmm… this blue jean box kelly looks rather nice though (and is also another way to carry it). I wonder if the leather is long enough to be used as a belt?

There’s also that big open cabas. Big bags, anyone? (are we not over that “trend” yet? Ahhh but this is a cabas… not a shoulder bag)

This looks like the Paris Bombay GM bag– with a shoulder strap.
I like the Kelly the most, but the practicality issue needs to be addressed. I also am wondering about its size. But it’s quite nice, nonetheless. Oh and those collier de chien bracelets (especially in croc)… Tsk tsk, sheer luxe. Ahhh don’t we love Hermes 🙂

P.S. I just thought of sharing these photos below for you hags. I took these photos while I was back in San Francisco. There was a pear grove near where I live, and I couldn’t resist taking photos of them (not having seen pear trees up close before :D).
