Bag Review: Bags from Neiman Marcus + Janina’s Holiday Bling!

Good morning, dear friends! 🙂 Nice discussion we all had from yesterday’s post!

Today, let’s talk bags… sans the man hahaha. It’s time for another bag review. I haven’t done this in a looooong time. 🙂

Valentino’s Jeunesse Bow Shopper.

I actually saw this bag on someone not too long ago. You know, I’m a sucker for Valentino— his gowns, his bags… alas, I’ve never owned any of his bags. I love this bag a lot, but I think paying US$2,150 for it is still a bit much. The downside of this bag is, it’s made of what I call, “High maintenance leather”. It’s very buttery soft and supple, but is also highly prone to scratches and scuffing (well, that’s actually pretty much like the Balenciaga bags, but Valentino leather is sooo much softer). I still dream of owning one Valentino bag, in the right color, and in the right style. I missed the “pages” Valentino bugatti bag which I saw a year ago at the Louvre. I still wish I had asked for it, but yeah well, it was not meant to be 😉 This bag is available at NeimanMarcus.com

Now this bag, is really a basic, classic bag that will last you for a long time. The YSL “Y” Zip tote is one of the easiest bags to carry, as it has none of those details that would cause your bag’s leather to snag or tear or scratch.

A downside though is this bag’s weight. It is not light. But then it’s gorgeous. This particular bag in reddish- pink (the color is actually supposed to be red) patent is just too yummy. And best of all, the price is still quite friendly (if you compare it with other brands) at US$995, and is available at neimanmarcus.com

Now, this Christian Louboutin shoulder bag

reminds me too much of Prada. Do you baghags remember when Prada released a very similar style? I love Christian Louboutin shoes– and that’s about it. I’m just not feeling his bags. But Christian’s success story, I totally “feel” :D. This man has gone from 1 small boutique in Paris, to several around the world, after he had decided to focus his attention from operating his shop to just making more beautiful shoes (creative side).  Shoes off to this man 😉 But please, stay with the shoes for now. In all honesty, I loved Manolo Blahnik shoes more than Louboutins— once. But then somehow the quality of Blahnik’s shoes suffered. We live in the tropics, and if you have Manolos you haven’t used for over 6 months, you might notice their heels crumbling– which was what happened to my shoes (4 of them too– so it wasn’t a fluke)! There goes my investment 🙁 So now, I’m saving up for Louboutins 😀

  2. @ katey: I think Singapore will have to be the cheapest bec of the GST rebate. HK is not so cheap anymore, and I think Bangkok is almost the same as the Philippines, if not more expensive!

@ Valentino360: I love the bag actually! You should check out the turquoise color. It’s gorgeous!!

    @ Pa3cia: it’s pretty, isn’t it? 🙂
