It’s high time I did a reveal. I was able to get this new mini bag before I flew out for my trip and she was not given the time of day 🙁 So now, it’s time to introduce her 🙂
Hermes orange lizard kelly pochette with ruthenium hardware 🙂 She is replacing my hardly used pelouse kelly pochette, who will soon find its way into the hands of a lovely new owner who vows to take good care of her 🙂
Speaking of Hermes, I was told there was another price increase a day or two ago. Eeps! It seemed only like yesterday when birkin prices were just a little over US$5,000 in-stores. The birkin style was just about 8 years old back then. This Hermes ad, circa 1992+ (when I was still in college) was when birkins were about $5,000.
Geez, that was 18 years ago. *Gulp* did time really go by that faaaast??? *Sigh*, now birkins are not only difficult to obtain in-store in most locations *except in Ginza, Tokyo haha* (plus at times you might have to contend with snooty sales associate attitudes), they are also trés, trés expensive *especially in Ginza, Tokyo eeps*!
The saddest realization now is, there are really so many fake birkins out there, in that even Hermes boxes are being replicated by counterfeiters! One of these days, I’ll talk about Hermes boxes. I think they are beginning to merit one whole post on their own, after I was asked to authenticate not the bag, but the box!

As a dreamer and I’m sure I’m not the only one, how does one even go about buying their first Birkin or Kelly? Gawd I have mile of questions but your first bag story would be awesome!
That pochette is E-X-O-T-I-C. It comes in a gorgeous orange colour too which makes it even more exotic.

i saw hermes boxes and paper bags at divi. yikes! a fave hermes birkin costs 6K there and man, it was too heavy!
