As you may already know, I love news about royals! So when the announcement of Kate’s engagement to Prince William showed up on my twitter timeline even before CNN broke the news, I knew an entry was due 🙂
I can’t wait for the wedding next year!! Britain will have a Princess Kate, and a future Queen Catherine 🙂 While everyone was comparing Kate to Princess Diana, I took a closer look at her and found her to have a slight resemblance to Wonder Woman 😀

Kate received the jaw- droppingly beautiful engagement ring of a large 18 ct. oval sapphire with 14 surrounding diamonds from Prince William.
This was the very same ring that Princess Diana received from Prince Charles on their engagement!
Here’s a photo of the ring on Princess Diana, if you peeps have already forgotten what it looked like on her *I think I echo the sentiments of many when I say I wish Diana was still alive to witness today’s event. I’m sure she’d have been so proud of her son!*
Anyway, here’s a cool tidbit about the ring: back in 1981, the ring made by Garrard Jewellers already cost about £30,000! *cha ching cha ching cha ching!!!*
Speaking of engagement rings, did you see the 24.78 carat PINK diamond ring that’s being auctioned in Sotheby’s at Geneva today?
*Drool* It’s supposed to break the world record in price! After all, it’s impossible to find a pink diamond of that size and quality (one grade shy of flawless). I think it’s expected to fetch something like £24 Million!! Lucky is the woman who will become the recipient of that ring!!!

Now, going back to the royal wedding announcement, I hope naysayers can just keep their thoughts to themselves and celebrate like everyone else in the engagement announcement of the 2nd in line to the British throne. I am so tempted to fly to London next year to hoard some tea towels and royal wedding plates hahaha 🙂 *I need a sponsor for that haha*
I can only imagine what one would feel if he/she gets an official invitation to the royal wedding! *THAT would be the ultimate invitation!*
Congratulations to Prince William and Katherine Middleton 🙂 I especially loved that Prince William gave his mom’s ring to his fiancee. It’s really so touching and is a real sign of love! *Awwww*
