Do you peeps know of a very stylish Eurasian (British) model/ tv host/ socialite named Alexa Chung? Yes, the same Alexa Chung who was the presenter of the now- defunct show on MTV called “It’s On with Alexa Chung.”
While her show may be off the air, her style has remained on the radar of fashion industry heavyweights. So much so, that Mulberry created a bag (patterned after the iconic Bayswater style) after her. The bag is called Alexa– natch 🙂 And it looks like the Alexa will be 2010’s first “IT” bag– ironic since Alexa herself has somewhat resented being called an “IT” girl 🙂

Thanks to my fellow blogger and friend TinD of Manilafashionobserver, I was told that the Mulberry Alexa bag is debuting in stores today, January 11.
Can I tell you why I like this bag? It’s an updated version of the Mulberry Bayswater which I like, and it actually somewhat resembled the YSL Muse Too bag (not in a big way though because the YSL is much, much more feminine) which I actually thought of getting at some point last year.

The Alexa has this mannish/ preppy schoolboy bag appeal to it if you look at the photo, and yet it comes off as quite feminine when carried. It can be carried cross body, on the shoulder, on your hand, or on the crook of your arm. The Alexa will come in: Peony Pink and Oak Shiny Leopard. And in soft buffalo leather, the bag will come in: Oak, Butter, and Ink (very nice also, also featured above). There will also be oversized versions available.
