Who remembers MCM bags? MCM stands for Mode Creation Munich, and yes it’s a German label. I still do- only because my mom had become a fan of the brand some 15 years ago or so. Cindy Crawford was even the brand ambassador and spokesperson at the time.

And then I heard very little about them after. In fact, I honestly thought the company had ceased to produce bags! Until fairly recently when I happened to pass by one of their boutiques! I was actually pleasantly surprised to see MCM again.
Frankly though, I am not sure what market they are trying to capture by making these backpacks. I probably wouldn’t have minded the logos so much on a shopping tote, but those backpacks just scare me *shudder*. Sorry
Goodness, I hope I am not the only one slightly offended by the looks of the backpacks though. (Otherwise can I say that I’m just becoming a wee bit older and that my taste is becoming rather conservative *omg staid?!*)
However, I am very pleased to see these two bags below. Yes from MCM too I think they did the textures and color blocking bit quite well. Beautiful structure too with that classic rectangular twistlock. Quite the difference from the logo-a-gogo backpacks.
I like this color combination below:
I am interested to see what else MCM comes up with and how they are managing to stay strong in the luxury bag market of late.
Tell me how you feel about the bags. I’d like to know your thoughts on them as well
