Vegas Travelog Day 1 (part 1)– Mrs.T, the baghag pauper, takes on Sin City

Ahhh Sin City. There is nothing really quite like this town. Forget Hong Kong. THIS town smells like money!!! *guffaw*

We exited through the Forum Shops *natch!*. The “sky” of this mall changes from day to night. It’s pretty awesome. This mall just never ceases to amaze me. I am still in awe even after having been to this mall in the past. 🙂Ta-dah, the House of Louis Vuitton. There’s that huuuge yellow epi steamer… And hatboxes. Is that really a hat box? I mean, it’s a really cute piece of luggage… But what else can you fit into that? Certainly not your thick coat! *Snicker… just underwear… plenty of ’em!*

Corso is the boutique that just stocks tons of bags. It was all bags, bags, bags! From Isabella Fiore to Marc Jacobs and YSL, this shop is just bag visual overload!! OHMYGOSH the YSL double bag in white!! *scream!!!* Patience, patience. I should scour the whole mall first before deciding. I don’t have a big bag budget 🙁 *gee thanks Goyard haha* Ugh, that YSL flapper tote in white really tugged at my heart *err, bag* strings. I sooo wanted the bag, but having “test driven” the black one (or was it brown) back in Singapore, just didn’t do it for me 🙁 *sigh*

There’s this store called Intermix where you can get Chloe bags, Sonia Rykiel, and real neat clothes (designer clothes like Catherine Malandrino, Diane Von Furstenberg, Marni, which I quite frankly can only look and touch but not buy *snicker*). They have a bright blue Chloe Betty bag .It’s reallllly nice… Sigh.. I don’t wanna break my purse- purchase ban. That and I’m so torn between that and the YSL double bag in white at Corso!! Oh and speaking of purse purchase ban– I didn’t count Goyard as bag purchase *muwahaha. HEY I set the rules hahahaha*. Ok ok I’ll count it as a purchase once I use the bag I bought 😀 So far, they remain unused! *Saigon will hafta go back to the Maison*

At one end of the Forum Shops is where you’ll see the statues of Julius Caesar and company (hehe I say “and company” because I never really listened in so I don’t know who those peeps are Hehe, I’m a pretty pathetic hag, eh? *Roll eyes*). Every 30 minutes, you’ll see the statues moving and talking, and with that, comes the laser show 😀 This show’s been around since… wow, since 1993? *or even earlier!!* So when I passed by that, I was like, geez I’m really getting old! 😀

We also passed by shops like Gucci (which has absolutely nothing nice this season. I’m giving Gucci a very bad review for their anniversary bags. Bugly bugly!!), Versace, Chopard, Christian Lacroix, Tods, Roberto Cavalli, Giuseppe Zanotti, Fendi (Fendi by the way has the mini spy *croissant* bag in gray), Jimmy Choo, and Judith Leiber among others. The Judith Leiber boutique by the way, already carries the Rachel Zoe collection (spectacular in croc! It’s US$8,000!!!).

Boy oh boy the Victoria’s Secret megashop is a sight for sore eyes (for men of course!). Check out the hot bod “angel” mannequin with those wings. They were used for the VS fashion show if I’m not mistaken. Looking through the window of this store made me think of the Pussycat Dolls… “Don’t you wish your girlfriend was hot like me…” hehehe…

Emilio Pucci is also housed under the Forum Shops. I’ve always loved their prints, but found them rather pricey. After all, the bags are mostly made of silk and are hence very delicate. I don’t think I can handle paying for an expensive and delicate (sensitive) bag over US$200. But Pucci bags are gorgeous. Beautiful prints (especially clutches!).

There was also Nanette Lepore,Scoop NYC, and ohmygawd, a bling shop– or rather, THE bling shop: Harry Winston! Check out this all- marquis cut diamond necklace! Those rocks are HUGE! I reckon only someone like Melania Trump could afford this. Oh and Paris Hilton… *hehehe* Anyone wanna buy me that necklace? Feeling generous today? (Pssst DH, one day if you hit paydirt, that center stone for me will do, and quite nicely it will! *Hehehe. Chortle!!* :D)

Anyway, we were heading off to Wynn Hotel to watch the show called Le Reve (or The Dream). I’ve heard only the best things about this show, so DM and I were really looking forward to this show to cap off our night.

AND, guess what, I was able to take some pretty cool photos of the show, which of course I would gladly share with you all in my next entry (along with street photos of Vegas!) 😀
