TRESORMAKATI NEWS + Our Dampa Seaside binge + Bag Pick

I was reading a comment poster’s remarks about “factory overruns/ defect” bags– and let me tell you then about how I feel in that regard. There is NO SUCH THING as factory defect/ overruns of expensive designer bags such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes. So if you are getting sold something like them, you are getting a fake bag. There is really NO SUCH THING. So please, please, be VERY wary of people who try to sell you bags like that. And as for Louis Vuitton bags, people have been asking me about a particular website selling these LV bags at a cheaper price than the boutiques. I will say this and please please listen and spread the word– the ONLY authorized website that carries and sells brand new Louis Vuitton bags, is www.eluxury.com so PLEASE take special note of that. If you really want to buy an expensive designer bag online, please please do your homework first before taking the plunge. Don’t forget about that Hermes birkin scam from Haley’s Couture / Hermes Galleria. It could very well happen to you if you are not careful. I’d really hate for it to happen to any of you. I know how hard each of you work for your bag money, and I’d be upset to hear it goes to another scam artist. Tsk tsk.

And now, some “lighter” news. I met up with the new web developer over the weekend– yes, the dude who’ll be responsible for the new look of Tresor. (ugh, no thanks to my old webmonkey who abandoned the project. UGH– am I THAT hard to work with? *muwahahaha YES*) I hope to get a template done sometime in September and have the whole site up by then. But til then, I figured it best for me to update the TRESORMAKATI site, which has also undergone some “botox” (hehee no plastic surgery yet).

I have updated a number of new bags in the site, so please do have a look when you have the time!

Meanwhile, let me also tell you about the weekend dinner with my dear old friends 🙂 Our gang met up at the Dampa Seaside by Macapagal Avenue for some fresh seafood. You see, our two galpals RC and JS are preggo-weggo now and had decided they want seafood, pronto. And who are we to deny them that? So off to Dampa we went 🙂

Never thought I’d have this much fun at this place. There was SO MUCH to see! There was a portion of the market devoted to meat.
And there were much seafoods to choose from– mainly shellfish actually (heck ain’t that the best?!!) There were all these prawns and shrimps, crayfish and crabs in all sizes (I mean from small, to extra large– hehe kinda like shirts!!)
Then there were lobsters– from mini lobsies to HUGE lobsies like this one– holy shellfish, it’s the motherload!! Ain’t that HUGE?! Methinks, at least 15 pounds?! (I can’t imagine eating that though *gulp*)

So after the preggo ladies picked the seafood, we all went into Shylin’s restaurant to have them cooked for us. Our dinner started off with green mango salad with shrimp paste (bagoong), and another salad which consisted of seaweeds, onions, and tomatoes.Just when I was savoring the salad did the dishes begin to literally “pour in”. They kept coming. We were all overwhelmed!

There were the prawns in sweet chili sauce (soooo fresh!)
The fried calamari *to be dipped with chili vinegar* (which was just ok, but would be a great beer- buddy dish, but drat I don’t drink beer *hate the bitter taste*)

Then there were the baked mussels with cheese and the fat fat fat crabs in butter garlic sauce (holy cholesterol gods, I ended up eating those reddish crab fat… I am glad I didn’t have to take a blood test the day after or else– haha hello candidate for a stroke/ heart attack!!)

It was really quite a feast. In fact, let this photo tell it all.
So I binged. Ok? Fine. I admit it now. And if you see me walking around, don’t be afraid to tell me I have gained weight. Because really, after I went through that meal, I swore that I got fat. I nearly had to unbutton my jeans in front of everyone had my DH not stopped me *muwahahaha he still has a reputation to keep! Meanwhile I already had none hahaha :D*.

And as if dinner was not enough gastronomic torture for all of us, we just HAD to get some dessert at Cafe Breton by Mall of Asia. *don’t care man, we all had to be happy campers with sugar overload apres dinner hehee… I betcha everyone was bouncing off the walls when they got home muwahaha– coz I did!!* Now we all knew too that we were going to have those food nightmares later on (hello, gluttony!!).

But ahhh… what a way to end the weekend 🙂

And oh wait, this baghag blog won’t be complete without a bag photo, and today’s bag is a Marc Jacobs Tie Tasha bag from eluxury.com
Do you likey this bag? Coz I sure do!! I’ve been all for the chain- series of Marc Jacobs, and although I was not that big a fan of the Stam (quilts reminded me of Chanel too much), I am a total fan of this pretty bag. This hobo style bag with the signature pushlocks get a lift up from those double-color ties that fall nicely off the body of the bag. At US$1,950, it is rather pricey *sigh* and again is proof that most nice designer (category 1 *hehehe yes there are categories, 1 being the “A list designers”) bags are over US$1,200 now. Sigh, we gotta work harder hags. These silly bags are costing us more than an arm and a leg now!! *chortle: ain’t THAT the truth!*

Quick holler to my hot mama friend DaphP whom I haven’t seen in a bit. I miss you girl! Let’s meet up soon– I wanna see more photos of the lil one 🙂

P.S. Too many things happening in Manila lately that I had to blog (or I’ll forget right away, whereas my Singapore trip is so memorable, I can hold off blogging about it since I know not to leave out any details!), so more on my last day in Singapore in tomorrow’s entry 🙂

Uh-oh I just realized I have an article due for a magazine *gulp*. I better work on it tomorrow. In case I don’t publish an entry, you know I’m working 🙂

xo
