Travelog: Moscow is a dream come true!

Breakfast was served at this room at the Ritz.

Unfortunately, your truly woke up a little late and barely made it to breakfast 😀

Today, here are some of the sights we saw: (I’ll give you the literature when I get back from my trip– I just want to share photos with you all right now)

This is the Bolshoi Theatre. It’s next to Tsum Department Store 😀

Then I think this is the library

A huge war memorial

Weather still very cold, but some of the week- old snow has begun to melt.

We went to see the world’s most beautiful metro stations, all in Moscow.

Kinda scary because their escalators were sooooo high and so long!

Each station was different

Chandeliers on some.

Beautiful indeed.

This station is pretty awesome. It looks like a museum!

I never expected to see this inside a metro station! It’s a huge mosaic work of art– check out the size on that next to that man!

Thank Gawd our guide was with us the whole time. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever be able to navigate through the metro on my own! It’s nearly impossible to understand the words in Russian!

After the metro station, we went to the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.

 It’s again, so beautiful inside!!

After the cathedral, we drove to Novodevitchy Convent. I decided to take B&W and sepia photos. I thought it looked nicer because the photos looked more dramatic. Tell me what you think!

Because of this morning’s visual feast, I am now so inspired to work. 🙂

We spent a considerable amount of  time in that convent before we decided to head to Cafe Pushkin for lunch (separate post for that– hehehe food will always deserve its own post here at thebaghagdiaries :D).

And after our fantastic (super highly recommended) lunch, we landed in Red Square.

Just staring at St Basil’s already made this Moscow trip so complete. Yes, I don’t need to shop!!! *hahaha*
(See, I can be low maintenance too hahaha!!)

Saint George

Parting shots before I end my post (I need to enjoy my super comfy bed :D)

It’s so colorful, so whimsical! I love 🙂 It’s impossible to take a bad photo of this.

I still can’t believe I’m seeing St Basil’s up close! Put it this way– I actually still can’t believe I’m in Moscow!! 🙂

That’s all for now peeps 🙂 For those 2 peeps who asked about which travel agency took care of our hotel + travel arrangements for Russia, it’s CV Travel. CV’s been taking care of our annual family travels for over 3 years now and she really comes highly recommended. My 2 “sponsors” DM and DB have been extremely pleased with the way everything is arranged. And this Russia trip is certainly testament to that– both DB and DM are impressed with our private guide, and everything’s working out very well 🙂
