Hi peeps! I’m so sorry for the lack of posts in the last week. Things had gotten so hectic in the latter part because I was in between travels and I also had to work on The Bag Hag Diaries on Star World 🙂 Between those two and juggling motherhood duties, I am left exhausted and often wondering when I can have more time– haha I’m beginning to complain that 24 hours is just not enough!
Anyway I am now in Milan for fashion week, and before things get even crazier, I just want to continue writing about my Chiang Mai and Thailand experience, courtesy of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (and through Travel Now Editrix- in- Chief Marbee Go). The rooms at Dhara Dhevi were incredible. They’re actually suites, and then there are also villas available. The villas even had private pools!
That private pool above overlooked the rice paddies. It was SO calming. I think I’d like to bring my family here one day for a nice R&R weekend– and yeah I’ll need to electronically unplug for that to completely enjoy the experience 🙂
Anyway, back to the suites at Dhara Dhevi. I stayed in a 2- room suite. It was very large for one person– more room that I could ever ask for 🙂 Here are some photos just to give you an idea 🙂 The entrance to my suite, and there is a guest bathroom to the left of this hallway.
The living room– where you can entertain friends who might be visiting you 😉
And the cozy bedroom where I had a few nights of very, very restful sleep 🙂
Oooh the toilet is ultra luxurious– and really big!!
A personal jacuzzi which haha I gladly used to relax. Trippy lights came with the jacuzzi haha. I felt like I was partying on my own haha as I’m sure most of my travelmates were as well in their own suites!
The next day, I had a wonderful breakfast al fresco, overlooking the property. It was so serene…
We headed out to explore the beautiful city during the day (more on that soon), but came back a bit early, haha in time for cocktail hour at The Horn Bar.
The walk back to my suite…
And then we headed to the restaurant of Dhara Dhevi called Le Grand Lanna. A look back at the hotel at night took my breath away…
The food at Le Grand Lanna was really worth writing home about– it was the best Thai restaurant I’ve eaten in. If you are ever in Chiang Mai, you cannot miss Le Grand Lanna. I will without question, be coming back here. I held off on the rice (and boohoo everything was best eaten with rice), but I used salad greens as accompaniment to every dish and I was just as satisfied!!
Dhara Dhevi, you stole my heart!! When Thailand (Bangkok) is again on my travel itinerary, I will make sure to take a detour to Chiang Mai because staying a few nights at Dhara Dhevi is really quite the relaxing experience. It is sooooo worth it!!!
