Travelog Day 6: Santana Row + Valley Fair with the Baghags (very meaty entry- 35 pics!)

A 50 minute drive (yes, I drive 😀 LPT and BT were both surprised to find out that I did drive haha) to San Jose (from Downtown San Francisco) brought us to Santana Row.
THIS is the Rodeo Drive of San Francisco. No, not really because there are lots of designer shops here– there actually aren’t many. The bag designers that are here are: Tod’s, Ferragamo, Burberry, Gucci, Furla. Not many. But what made this a place to go see, are the CARS. Yes, cars.

Lamborghini Coupe– Ok, shoot me, I love cars too but I’m not familiar with specifics. BT tells me this is the first coupe that Lamborghini came out with, and this baby costs US$200,000+. Wow, a cough up a few more thousand bucks after that diamond birkin and you get this 😀 *muwahaha*

Ferrari
Again, don’t ask me the model of this car. I just know it’s a Ferrari because of the logo 😀

And hmm what is this yellow car, is it a yellow Lamborghini? Gosh sensory overload galore!! And behind that yellow car is a pearl colored Lotus (was I right, BT? hehe).

And when we drove out of Santana Row, we also saw a red Ferrari! Ugh, this is the land of the richies. Five mucho expensivo cars– like, err, cars that are above US$150,000. *shock, stun, awe*

Ok now, let’s talk shop 😀 Our first order of business was to get something to drink. We went into Fantasia, a bubble tea (tapioca) place. I ordered the black jelly black tea while DM ordered our perennial favorite, Thai iced tea. That’s DM’s bag (it’s a Japanese brand, don’t recognize the name).

And here’s LPT’s and my bag 🙂 LPT carried her *WOOHOO* Hermes 35cm black chevre birkin. I debuted my white Goyard fidji with racing stripes 🙂 (Ooh by the way, Goyard will no longer allow handpainting done on the Fidji hobos!! WOOHOO, score again for me!)

After our drinks, we walked past Hotel Valencia, I guess the only hotel in Santana Row. It looks soo pretty, and oh look, I spied newlyweds! (Do you see them? :D)

We went into Anthropologie. Here’s a bag that’s quite nice (very soft leather!), but at US$400+, I’d rather spend it it getting Banana Republic’s leather tote *hehe scrimp scrimp!* They also had crochet bags– cute but no thanks 😀

What I love about Anthropologie is their decor. They sell these home furnishings as well. Wow, if I had a budget for decor, I’d get the chandeliers and stuff here 🙂 They’re sorta shabby chic.

There’s Ferragamo at Santana Row. I wonder how the brand is doing… Hmm this bag made me wonder all the more. It’s fur and lizard trimmed. I shudder to think how this bag will keep in our humid country 😀 *shed shed shed*

Anne Fontaine
! There was one boutique in downtown SF and here’s the other. Their shirts are quite pricey (but hey, 100% cotton, and made in France!). I’d honestly rather get my shirts at Religioso or at Tyler. 😀 I have no budget for Anne Fontaine. Maybe when I win the lottery, I’ll stock up on Anne Fontaine and hire a nice lady to iron my shirts 😀 But for now, this hag will hafta work it with sweats and tracksuits (the cheap kind. I can’t afford Juicy Couture 😀 Teehee!)

There’s Urban Outfitters, that had all these gen X clothes (err, am I Gen X? :D). They’re very reasonably priced. They also have some knick knacks. I wanted to get something from this store, but didn’t. After all, I no longer have the money. I’ll have to ask my teller to lend me some money *guffaw guffaw*. Sigh, how hard is it to be a woman? It’s not like we like the idea of spending money– I mean, come on. If I can, I’d scrimp it all til I die. But the problem is, there are wayy too much good stuff lying around for us to buy! 🙁

There’s a little piazza right by Maggiano’s (which serves good pasta).
We decided to have early dinner at Left Bank (a Parisienne cafe). Why the early dinner? So we have time to hop over to the next-door mall called Westfield Valley Fair *woohoo oh nooooo*.

We all shared an order of the Cheese Fondue (a moment on our lips, forever on our hips… *sob*) it was SoOOOO GOOD!

DM and I ordered the Duck Confit aux peches. This was excellent, although the duck leg was a bit dry already. Very good nevertheless.

LPT ordered the Ze burger with Swiss Emmenthal cheese
BT ordered the rib-eye with bone marrow. Looks gooood 🙂
No more dessert for us this time. We had to run along to Valley Fair Mall *hahaha mall over dessert, anytime!!!*

Oh here’s a token photo of LPT and I 😀 (Lookit LPT’s bag!!!)

Before we left Santana Row, we even passed by this big chessboard 🙂 And there also was a mariachi band playing lively music, and the peeps at the cafes were seen enjoying the nice and warm (but breezy) Saturday early evening.

We went over to Valley Fair Mall 🙂 where we saw more Kenneth Cole bags (I’m taking a serious liking to the multi-pocket ones!)

Then we went to Banana Republic. Remember I recommended the Sandhurst tote? Well I am really in love with the bag now. I can honestly say this bag is just as gorgeous in person as it is in photos. The bag costs US$298 (tax exclusive), and is made of real leather (no pleather here). It’s really gorgeous to be honest. They also have it in whiskey color (the one photographed here is the dark brown one). And I think I’m likewise sold on this bag. (MsF, thanks for making me look at Banana Rep!!)

Oooh Harry Winston watches! There’s a very nice jewellery store inside Valley Fair, which is within the same lane as Louis Vuitton. They carry Chopard, and other high end brands. To die for, gals!!!

Louis Vuitton. The house of monogram. We paid homage to this monogram house, but came out empty handed (oh thank Gawd!). The Damier Azur is NOT coming out this September, as I was told. So I guess it’s slated to be in stores sometime in October still. And the monogram groom pieces won’t be out anytime this month either, as we were told. Bah. Thank goodness for me then. My loose change is safe *muwahaha*.

Nordstrom. We went into the shoes section (nothing interesting), before venturing out to the bag section. And my eyes almost popped out of their sockets. Holy smokes, there are TONS of Chloe bags here. All sizes all styles all colors imaginable! What’s up with the huge stock?!!! Looksee for yourself!!
Paddingtons and the hybrids.

Edith bags

They’re everywhere at this Nordie’s branch!

Mulberry bags
. Tsk, disappointed with the Bayswater still 🙁 I wish it didn’t have to be sooo heavy 🙁

Botkier
. Teehee that dual pocket bag looks like a D-cup bra to me 😀

Marc Jacobs
. Hey that’s a pretty color for a bag right there! *I’m impartial to plum :D*

Valley Fair
is also home to nice kiddie clothes’ shops like Pumpkin Patch, and Janie & Jack.

But sigh, the prices of their clothes are soooo unreasonable 🙁 I mean, for a cute little shirt and jeans alone already costs US$45! *I can get cheaper clothes for the kids at Old Navy 😀 teehee)

We were still at the mall when the stores began closing *hahaa Die hard mall rats!*. The great day had to end with an awesome night. Tomorrow, LPT and BT were flying out of San Francisco back to their hometown, so we tried to make the most of out it. I just hope they weren’t bored because DM and I just took them to malls *hahaha*.

The drive back into the City was pleasant, and we even saw the new Bloomingdales building. Oooh we can’t wait for September 28 when it opens 😀

Ok, where are DM and I going tomorrow? We are heading to Las Vegas 🙂 SIN CITY! No, we don’t gamble (although I’ve had my hand at roulette to DH’s shock hahaha, psst babe I won you US$90 so don’t grumble 😀 *snicker*). But nothing’s worse than SHOPPING in the SIN CITY.

I will try to update my blog when I’m there, but sorry if I don’t 😀 Hehe may I be excused? *At least that’s something you guys can look forward to!!* And besides, this current blog entry you are reading should be meaty enough for the next 3 days 😀

I’ll be good in Vegas though, because quite honestly, having stopped by Goyard in SF already wreaked total financial havoc for me. So this trip should just be about sightseeing and revelling in the Europe of The U.S. 😀 *Paris and Venice, here I come haha*

P.S. Anyone in Vegas want to meet up at the shops? *muwahaha bad bad bad* My number is +1415 283-5591. Hags, if you want some bags, let me know 😀 I’m your personal bag shopper *hehe shameless plug!*

P.P.S. DH: Wish you were here, seriously! *sniff*

  1. The silver Lamborghini is a Murcielago Roadster, the yellow one is a Murcielago Coupe. The blue Ferrari is a 360 Modena. You can probably buy 2 lotuses for the price of the diamond birkin. 🙂

  2. correction : both lamborghinis were gallardo. white gallardo spyder and yellow gallardo coupe. and the ferrari was a challenge stradale 360, to be specific. i agree, on the lotus, maybe even 3 lotuses for the birkin croc with diamonds!
