Travelog: Bellagio, Como (April 2009)

Bellagio is a municipality located on Lake Como. It’s, I think, the most beautiful part of Como (unless someone can claim otherwise? :D)

We stayed in a villa called Villa Serbelloni 🙂 *wooohooo– yeah, Mrs.T can actually tell peeps that she stayed in a “Villa”… hahaha braggart!!*

Our room was HUGE. High ceiling, and huge. It was pretty stately. A little creepy almost. A lot of antique furniture! I wonder if European Royals stay in rooms like this one. I’m sure their rooms are way bigger. Darn, I could get used to the high ceiling. *Mental note: Have high ceiling when constructing my phantom dream house… in my head hahahaha*

Oh and what I love even more about the rooms? The bath products! By ETRO! *hahaha* Ok, peeps, who among you hoard hotel bath products? Hmm? 😀 *Points at you* (Confession: Because I’m a hoarder hahahaha… ok wait, I’ve become more… “discriminating” now. Hahahaha I have a cabinet full of hotel products that I can actually open a convenience store hahahaha… so as you can probably imagine, I never run out of shampoo or bath soap in the house *Oh GaWd… embarrassing! hahaha!*)

As I was looking at the papers on our desk, I found this door card. I am actually bothered by it, so I posted it here. If you are traveling with your baby, do you actually leave your baby alone in the room??? I mean, I know I would never do that. But does this card actually mean that some parents do leave their babies in the room while they go out and about? This card is supposed to be hung on your doorknob before you leave your baby alone in the room. It says “I’m alone. If I cry, please tell the concierge.” I don’t know. I’m really bothered by this. Parents out there, I know that sometimes we all need “alone” time, but would you be willing to leave your baby inside the room alone and would that card be comforting enough for you to know that if you leave your baby in the room, he/she will be taken cared of if he/she cries?? Something’s so wrong with the idea. I mean, what if the hotel is on fire???

The view from our room at night. Not much to see actually, but the lights made it so pretty 😀
Villa Serbelloni by day 🙂 Makes me wonder if George Clooney’s villa is like this 🙂 I’d love to be able to have a “Villa” someday *ok, dream on Mrs.T*

Our view by day. Our hotel’s got a really nice pool too, by the way (which I didn’t peruse haha… so many other things to do in Bellagio *umm…. like go shopping!*, why swim? Hahaha)

Here’s a plate of cheese on our breakfast table. It’s so yummmmy! And pretty, right? 🙂

This was what I had for breakfast. No cereal. No bread. No jam. Just prosciutto. And mozzarella balls with fresh tomatoes!! 😉Let’s not forget the freshly ground pepper 😉

  1. OMG! I am appalled by that door card thing about leaving a baby in the room and telling the concierge if you hear a baby cry?! OMG! I am totally dumb struck. So many things can go wrong. I don’t want to think about it. This is why that Madeline girl got taken from her room… because they were left alone while the parents are out dining or cavorting or what not. OMG! Sorry… but i am just absolutely appalled!

  2. OMG, isn’t this how Madeleine (?spelling?) went missing — daughter of the British doctors/couple who were on vacation in Portugal with their kids? They left their kids, Madie and twin girl/boy every night for 4-5 nights in a row to have dinner with friends in a resto across the hotel. Tsk, tsk, tsk… I just can’t imagine myself leaving my child alone in a strange hotel room. — shoppingpal

  3. omg prosciutto and mozzarella balls are my favorite thing EVER! i usually wrap the prosciutto around the cheese- soooooooo good.

  4. hi Miss T…. i love your travelog.. but miss your bag blog.. I know this is out of topic, but i want your opinion, am about to buy an LV in weeks, which one you think is more practical and flexible?? a speedy 30 monogram or Neverfull MM??? i have, though, a speedy 24 in cherry blossom. thanks.
