The rock + bag review

I just saw the whopping $12.36 Million Lesotho Promise diamond (in the rough)– and yes, Oh My Gawd it was the size of a golf ball.So when someone says you’re a “diamond in the rough”, think of the Lesotho Promise diamond. My friend KO who graciously sent this photograph had given me the brilliant idea that we should move to South Africa and dig up our own diamond. Heck yeah girl, I’m with you there. Let me raise funds to get there first 😀 Why wait for a man to buy you a diamond? Dig one up yourself!! Women of the world, raise your right hand 🙂 *snicker* Girl power! *muwahaha pathetic*

I am inspired by the color of that diamond. It’s colorless but has that grayish tone (more like silverish). But let me stick with the gray because that’s the color of the bag I am liking.

Vanessa Bruno’s dove gray leather bag with buckles costs £295 at Browns Fashion. The leather seems sooo buttery soft and slouchy. We like slouchy bags, as evidenced by the picks a few months back (hello Miu miu). The other element that made this a likeable bag is the buckles on the side. Nice for the price! 🙂

Marni patent leather bowling bag. Yup we sure like our sparklers, and a big bag in patent leather does have that “bling” effect too. I am finding this bag cute, perhaps because it lacks the embellishments that Marni has been famous for– Ugh and thank gawd embellishments are absent on the bag! Aren’t you all sick of the Marni-esque accessories? Oooh and note, there’s now a “high end line” of those “disposable” Marni-esque accessories at the Powerplant Mall, as what a few baghags informed me. I am one of those suckers who bought a piece with a friend a few months ago. I only wore my necklace once and the damn ribbons on the necklace started shredding like Parmesan cheese! Really crappy stuff and I paid something like Php 500 for it too (and thanks to RC who tells me “geez girl, you can get those necklaces for Php 150 at 168!” I should’ve just bought something from Avatar for a few bucks more– but guaranteed better quality). But haha oh don’t mind my harping, it’s so not related to this bag since I didn’t even get a real Marni necklace to begin with (I betcha the real Marni pieces aren’t disposable!). But good going on this bag, Marni! Priced at £615 at Brown’s.

Baghags, if you also hoard accessories like I do, time to edit your accessories drawer. Throw away pieces that need to be disposed (like my silver rattan links necklace with cheapo ribbons *haha can you tell I’m really harping? I feel gyped!!! Php 500 for one- time use necklace!!*) or better yet, rework it. Or you can always save yourself the trouble of editing later by just saving your money for a real piece of jewellery (damn accessories– they add up to quite a sum too!). Go get an antique medallion charm necklace from DaphneP, or a dainty pair of earrings at Jul B. Dizon Jewellery Salon. At least your money goes a longer way, and hey you can pass it on to your heirs one day 😀

But pssst, there’s always a new bag if you can’t fancy jewellery yet. Baby steps, hags! Trust me, you’ll get to that kind of obsession later *wink!*

  1. Speaking of Goyard, I honestly just started “noticing” the brand since you first mentioned it. Now, I can quickly spot it when I see it on TV! It’s what Gail brought when she and Oprah went on a road trip accross the USA. It’s also the handbag that Calista Flockhart’s character in “Brothers and Sisters” is using.

  2. hey mrs t! I wrote a whole post on the proper care of bags in my blog. if you’ve time please check it out, baka may kulang. hehe! 😉
