Shop Bags Below US $400!

It’s Tuesday (had a pretty nasty Monday with my throat ache, so hopefully today’s better)! And Tuesday’s  never too early to celebrate with a new bag (or two) 😀 This time though, I have made bag picks with a specific price range in mind– nothing over US$400. In the last few years, it seemed that there wouldn’t be any more designer bags available for below US$1,000. And with the recent price increase for Chanel classic flap bags, prices seem to kill the enjoyment in owning a new designer bag. But hah, not so. It’s all about compromise. You don’t need to have that US$4,500 + Chanel classic flap bag. There are still a lot of excellent designer bags out there sans the surreal price tag.

In the last few seasons, I hate to have to admit that I haven’t found one Marc Jacobs bag that I really like a lot, but when it comes to Marc by Marc Jacobs, practically everything is worth getting!

I like that there’s a cute luggage tag included– it is reminiscent of Prada bags actually 🙂 I do like this bag a lot because of the side pockets, and the easy-to- carry rolled leather handles. The bag also has a zipped enclosure to keep your things secure. I did wish though that the bag came with the now- necessary detachable shoulder strap. But for US$278, this bag is really a steal.  This bag is available for purchase now at ShopBop.

Another Marc by Marc! This Marc by Marc Jacobs Ozzie Square Baby Aiden Bag is another example that leather designer bags don’t always have to cost you over US$1,000.

It’s purple (a great, bright color for summer– and would like great with an all white outfit), it is in ostrich skin- stamped leather (I’m honestly not too keen on ostrich leather/ ostrich stamped leather because of the spots, but for the price of this bag? I’d go for it!), and it’s in a classic bowling bag shape. There are 2 patch pockets on each end of the zipper (perfect for your car keys and business cards). And best of all, 

 

Now, if you want to indulge a little more in a higher priced bag (but note, not over US$700) , can I just insert this recommendation because I personally love this bag?  You know I have professed my love for combined material bags  (leather and burlap this time) — this is the perfect bag example!

It’s got a bit of an “edge” but is still a very classy- looking, almost conservative bag– this makes the bag a great companion during a dress- up or dress- down day. Another reason why I like the Emile tote is because it has a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap.

This would be a perfect bag to carry if you wear your summer neutral linens 🙂 I would really love to see this bag up close to see if it’s heavy or light. From the looks of it though, it’s probably not extremely light (with the hardware corners), but again, the bag itself is a beauty.
