Finally, Roger Vivier has opened its very first boutique in South East Asia– in Singapore! Located at Takashimaya along Orchard Road, the 90sqm boutique designed by Herve Van der Straeten carries the latest bags (Prismick), shoes (Buckle, Choc, and Virgule heels), as well as wallets and other accessories.
Last night was the formal opening of the boutique, graced by the beautiful Hong Kong actress Carina Lau. She wore a striking pink dress at the boutique opening before changing to her dinner outfit– she had matched her pink dress with a bright pink Prismick bag
and those gorgeous patent pink Virgule heeled Viviers.

The Vivier buckle is the brand’s emblematic signature. Did you know that the large chrome buckle on the front of the shoes (at the time pumps) made its debut all the way back in 1965 as an accessory to Yves Saint Laurent’s Mondrian collection?
Ergo strappy low- heeled pumps are so sexy on the feet– and they are very comfortable.

My favorite loafers– check out the leftmost one with that makeup brush (is it a blusher?). It is too cute!

But the pumps with the Virgule heel remains my all- time favorite.
Vivier pioneered this heel too and Bruno Frisoni has so beautifully worked on new styles with this signature heel.
The boutique opening was very well attended– it was already so crowded even before Carina Lau, Ines dela Fressange, Bruno Frisoni, and Herve Van der Straeten arrived.
I had time to go around the boutique to “inspect” the bags up close– my favorite will always be the bags from the Prismick line. These bags are so classic and are made of beautiful, supple leather.

Then we all headed to the private dinner at Clifford over at the Fullerton Bay Hotel.

My seatmate of the night was interior designer and famed jewellery designer Herve Van der Straeten. He was such a fun seatmate and we had a ball, even though I was feeling so under the weather. But gratefully not feeling bad enough as we gamely posed for photos later on in the evening 🙂

and throughout the night I had a wonderful time listening to her stories about her days working with Karl at Chanel, beautiful anecdotes about her life and how she met designer Herve Van der Straeten. I love the banter between her and Herve!

On the way out of our dinner, Cat of Roger Vivier introduced me to Carina Lau. I can’t stress enough how beautiful she is!
It was such an incredible night, and I’d have gone out to Ku De Ta with the rest of the gang who decided to party after, but I was really feeling feverish and my asthma had been acting up throughout the night. This lady has to slow down a wee bit. But I was so glad to have been invited to this event to celebrate Vivier’s opening. Thank you so much, Roger Vivier!!
