Of looking pregnant and Of Eluxury.com

Happy Happy 🙂 Tresorie almost took up full page for the feature at the local national broadsheet, Philippine Star (written by Jackie C. Antonio). Thank youuuuu…. Had to post the photo here. Here’s a tight shot of D! Luxe Accessories since photo is smaller than Tresor’s and Tinsley Clothing 🙂 I was so happy yesterday, nothing could dampen my mood– not even when an old acquaintance who popped by the store asked if I was pregnant. *Gulp* Yes, so I got a little plumper (like a pumpkin). *Sniff* That did sadden me a bit to hear him ask “hey… are you pregnant?”. Yep, me in my old gray (and snug haha.. feeling sexy) Banana Republic dress. I must’ve looked fat. *Sob* Here. This is what I look like today. *Errr, do I still look pregnant? (I really look like I gained some weight actually)* But no matter– if I *still* look pregnant today again, it’s really fine *Scoff!* (hehe I’m so bad :D) Off topic: check out my necklace! I had worked on a similar piece *real jewelry* originally intended to be my 1st piece as a jewelry “designer” but I abandoned the jeweller wannabe in me because the piece got too expensive to reproduce haha. So RCV of D! Luxe ended up making a very similar piece which is what I wore on that photo. Check Tresorie for it. It’s very affordable compared to the piece I had made to originally resell. I love it because it looks great and looks expensive. (You know me, I always want to look expensive to channel that “rich” lady *aka Tai Tai* look, but in reality I am a total fake tai tai *a diehard wannabe*– sure sometimes I look rich, but hahaha open my wallet *like I just did right now* and I only have what, Php 350 for the week?! Haha *I am sooo not kidding*) Hehe… I can’t keep revealing the pits of my financial woes for the world to know… (well put it this way, don’t you all already know that I am and have been sucked into some kind of a financial black hole? Thebaghag rests her case *wink*)

Blah, I drifted again. Back to the discussion about my so-called “aesthetic” setback. Here’s the real skinny: I’m actually very insecure about my body. I know I can get pretty obsessive with my weight and BMI, although it’s really my fault in the end because I binge and starve (yoyo diet too)… the cycle just doesn’t end *tsk not good* But hey, like I said, though that “pregnancy question” only did temporary damage to my happiness (*Ahem* truth: Actually I am still upset by that til now– for bag’s sake, I harped about it the WHOLE day while I played Shopgirl! Mrs.T= *harumph not affected indeed eh?* Liar liar pants on fire :D). Oye, I still ended my day with a smile (it’s really strange, but smiling throughout the day just has a way of making everything feel so “light”, like there’s not a problem in sight 😀 *healthy living– smiling through life’s banalities even if someone says you look pregnant even though you obviously aren’t ‘coz you know have no bun in the oven… you’re just fat haha*). So there. NO. I am Not Pregnant. I am just “Plump” *pout* 😀

So, what else makes this baghag smile so much anyway? The thought of a new bag 🙂 I managed to swap my LV Neverfull MM to a GM. *thanks CV!!* Here’s the actual difference in size: MM measures 12.5″x 11.5″x 6.5″; GM measures 15.5″x 12.5″x 8″. The difference is quite big. I realized that I was better off with the GM since the MM was the same size as the Goyard St. Louis PM. (Sigh, all these MM PM GM sizes of different bags are getting confusing eh? For instance, the St Louis PM is actually equivalent in size to the Neverfull MM. The Junior St Louis is the almost the same size as the Neverfull PM… So now that you have that info on hand, don’t get the sizes of the Goyard St. Louis all confused :D)

It’s funny, I was told about how long the list here in Manila had become *ballooned like a mushroom cloud*. I’m telling you, it’s really a good bag to use so it’s not a surprise that LV lovers embraced this bag with open arms :). I’m not actually such a “monogram” bag person (unless it’s a Goyard) but I’m willing to make an exception for this baby (it’s cheaper than Goyard haha).

Oh and while Manila, Hong Kong, Singapore, are all out of Neverfulls, it seems that eluxury.com still has plenty of them in stock (if you have relatives in the US, perfect time to ask them for this favor haha). The site also has the LV ivory epi Montaigne GM. I like this bag’s size and it being white is all the more yummy, but I honestly don’t care for the buckle in front. I did wish they were able to just “supersize” the Montaigne PM. Both GM and PM sized bags available at eluxury.com for US$1500 and US$1270 respectively.

Speaking of ivory epi leather bags, I am still so in love with the ivory epi alma. I really would love to own this bag, and the bugatti shape has always been a classic and won’t just die like “trends” usually do. My only problem right now is really learning how to edit the contents of my bag. If you’ve done the size upgrade from a PM to an MM, then from an MM to a GM, you’d know how hard it is to edit. Oh well, there’s always room to adjust and learn, especially when it comes to new bags 🙂 Epi alma priced at US$1090.

There’s also the “That’s LOVE” tote wherein the word LOVE (Marc Jacobs said you can’t spell Love without LV… catchy) took over 20 hours to hand stitch. For the hefty price of US$1720, I quite frankly would rather get some other bag. It’s a rather funky bag to own, but for a cotton and canvas piece, I’d much rather get the more nondescript Hermes toile bag.

I’ve scoured a bit of the LV bags available at eluxury.com and so far, the “gets” are the Neverfull bags, and that ivory epi alma 🙂 Now I’ve got to get my shuteye. I think I already have some kind of tract infection in my kidneys or something for not having been drinking enough water daily. *I’d rather drink green tea thank you *Snoot haha*

Have a good weekend baghags!!

xx

  1. Hi Mrs. T,

I’m an avid reader of your blog and am a bag lover as well. I have yet to own a Goyard (hopefully this year!) and I know just how much you love the brand. Have you seen/ heard of Love Luggage Joint bags? I was appalled when I saw the Goyard “inspired” designs complete with stripes and initials at Nordstrom several weeks ago.

This past Mother’s Day was my first ever and it was extra memorable since my gift was a jumbo black and silver Chanel 2.55. Would love to share pictures with you along with my blue Chloe Edith satchel purchased a few days ago for a steal at the Nordstrom half-year sale.

  2. Hello Mrs. T. I can relate with looking rich and having no moollah. I also just checked my wallet (which is an LV perforated, by the way) a few minutes ago, and guess what?!? I have P142 total. (Coins pa yung 22 pesos!) I have an expensive wallet with no money in it. How pathetic, eh?

Anyway, I’m off to Bangkok on Wednesday. I was invited to cover some launch, or something. So everything’s free. Freeloading! Bwahahaha. Anyway, advance Happy Birthday!! What do you want from Bangkok? Will sampaloc do? LOL!

    Take care!

  3. Hihi! Can i check if Neverfull’s thin straps hurts the shoulder when you put too much stuffs? I’m thinking of getting the MM or PM. My friend said PM is nicer, MM is more auntyish, but i feel MM is more spacious. hehe

  4. Hi Mrs.T! after reading your blog I just had to get that LV Neverfull !!!!! Thanks to you …. I really fell in-love with the bag. Got it in the states for $620 +tax for the MM. The LV stores in the bay area have a lot in thier inventory …no waiting list.

  5. CLH: woohoo you’re so nice to give your mom a nice Chanel 🙂 She’s so lucky to have you, and you need to gift yourself too and the Edith is a good choice (esp if on sale!!)

anon on my weight: Actually im not stick thin. If you are basing it all on the photos you saw on the blog, you’ll notice i always angle myself sideways. there’s no way i’d share this “skinny idealogy” to any member of my family. It’s just me, me, me. And it’ll stay that way. I just need to be more disciplined with the way I eat I guess. But oye, at least I eat! haha *pfft*

rg: Lucccckkkyyy you! I wanna get sent to Bangkok too for some press junket, but I guess no one wants to send me hahaha. *Pathetic* It’s nice to get free stuff once in a while eh? 🙂

her: straps dont hurt. get the MM 😀 *Id advice the GM but that might be too big for you*

VG: thank the bag gods for the Bay Area 😀 Glad you got yours there without the looong wait !!
