New Bag Discovery: Celine Lefébure Bags

With the clamour for Mansur Gavriel bags, many designers have taken to either outright copying, or being inspired by the very bags and redesigning them better.

One of the brands that I have taken to liking is from a French designer named Celine Lefébure. Celine created her accessories company (called Carla 1854) back in 2008. But over the years, she worked with Italian suppliers because of their leather- manufacturing and treatment techniques and then came out with this new collection.

To be honest, I initially thought that this was another designer who had sought to cash in on the popularity of bucket bags a la Mansur Gavriel.  But the bucket bag style has actually been there for a very long time, so it’s not really a new shape. It was just resurrected 🙂

While I do love the Mansur Gavriel bucket bags also because of their price points, Lefébure bucket bags are a modified (and yes, much better) version. And update– they are cheaper than MG bags!

One of the best features of the Lefébure Karin is its short handle, which is absent in Mansur bucket bags. There is that added option which makes carrying the bag more versatile. The longer shoulder strap is adjustable and is detachable 🙂

The bags are lined in fabric, and they have interior pockets to prevent you from searching for your keys or for your ringing phone in bag abyss 😉 Lefébure bags are also ultra- discreet– you won’t find even a small heatstamped brand name on the exterior body of the bag.

So if you are in the market for a bag that doesn’t scream a brand name, Celine Lefébure bags are a good option– and they’re still fairly exclusive and are not readily available everywhere. I highly recommend the Karin bucket bag from her line 😉

Celine Lefébure bags are currently stocked at Le Bon Marché and are also available online. For more information, check www.celinelefebure.com
