Mrs.T and the Dapitan experience

Gooodnesssss….. just when I thought my internet was finally all good, did my connection fail me yet again. It’s actually alright this time because I’ve been able to get some good sleep. I’ve been feeling rather sluggish lately because of all the red meat I’ve been eating *muwahaha cholesterol overload!*. Yes, I’m back to my regular eating habits (Healthy Shabu Shabu, Pepper Lunch, Sala) again 😀 *And ouch on my financials! (sob) But bah, I’d rather die full and happy 😉 *snicker*

Anyways, I got gas *oh, wait, that didn’t sound right hahaha*…. I mean, I went to have my car filled up the other day with gas, and I nearly fainted not at the smell of gas *mmmm I love the smell of gas actually… hehehe addict addict!*, but at the meter reading of the pump.

OH MY GAS!!! I could NOT believe that gas has gone up that a full tank costs this much! (Where have I been, right? I know, I know… but I have never had to fill up my car “full tank” before… thank you DH :D).

Anyway, so a few days ago, I went to Dapitan Arcade. Have you guys ever been there? The whole place is a treasure trove!

Here are some photos.
Wrought iron cages, tables, and Tiffany gilt chairs.

I will talk about them in more detail in a new magazine which debuts in September 😉 *more details soon* But bottom line, if you love plates, THIS is the place to go. We’re talking dirt cheap!! Plus you will definitely give the local economy a serious boost!!! Want to support our local economy? Pay Dapitan Arcade a visit! Dress down and comfortably because the heat could get to you 🙂

P.S. I MUST blog about this perfect little contraption that I was introduced to. You see, I still have toddlers in the house, so this is so PERFECT for me. Moms out there– if you also have toddlers, you hafta check this out:

KABOOST portable chair booster. I have always been so troubled that I need to plop cushions all over our dining table chair for my little one to be able to reach his food on the table. Now, I need not worry. And I swear, thank God for that. Because I was at the point of contemplating on whether buying another high chair would be more prudent for my little one. KABOOST is only Php 2,700 each (wayyy cheaper than a high chair!!!). This little “X” shaped thing hugged the feet of the chair, adding instant height to the chair. So your toddler will be “at level” with adults at the dinner table now! Ain’t that the coolest thing or what! I had to blog about it because I’m such a happy mommy to see my toddler eating happily now, with that height boost.

KABOOST is imported by Quirks Marketing, at (632) 994-0936 and is already available at selected Hobbes and Landes (Rockwell has it), Kidz Station, as well as Rustans or you can call them direct to order. Check out the site at www.kaboostphilippines.com It’s seriously a must-have for every household that has toddlers 🙂

  2. been to Dapitan Aracde before. that’s where we bought some decors for our wedding in 2006. and yes, the plates were not only pretty but real cheap, too. try to visit it around October. they may have lots of affordable but really nice Christmas decors already.

  3. Waaah! You’re writing about Dapitan Arcade. Now more people will know about this little secret shopping place of mine. I’ve been going to Dapitan Arcade for over 10 years, and I have bought so many nice things from there (some costing only 10 pesos!! Can you believe it?). I’ve actually written about this place for a magazine last year, but now that you’re writing about it, more people will go there now. Huhuhuhu. 🙂
Starlitgrove, no we’re not sharing. Hahahaha. It’s actually in the corner of Laong Laan and Dapitan Streets.

  4. How I miss places like this back home.

By the way, I left you a diamond gift on my Don’t Be Losyang blog. Thanks for the inspiration.

  5. would you know if there are already christmas items being sold in dapitan now? i’m excited to go but don’t want to waste the gas if i can’t find christmas stuff yet, which is what i’m really after…
