MFW SS2013: Gucci’s “Aristocratic Purism”

Jewel tones were the order of SS 2013’s collection for Gucci. Minimalist shapes but in bright pinks, citrine yellows, and electric blues dominated the runway,

interspersed with prints of sea anemone (from Japanese wallpaper!).

The looks may be “clean” but Frida Giannini has cleverly injected sensualism with those deep slits and clever cuts on the back. It is quite a romantic collection with flowing ruffles and bell sleeves.

Giannini has also focused in on accessories– bold necklaces for that total look.

And the bags? I am happy to report that we can leave the bigger bags at home in favor of smaller ones 🙂 It’s time to edit, edit, edit your bag contents! This SS2013, it’s all about a more streamlined, sleek look. Very feminine.

Ooh and that transparent clutch in plexiglass carved with precious gem patterns. Very nice!

Here are more looks from Gucci’s SS2013 collection below:

And I’m off to 2 more events tonight, so stay tuned 🙂 Will attempt to blog about Fay later when I get back!
