Bottega Veneta has always been about understated elegance. There is no need for a show of monograms and logos because the BV lady cares not about showing off. The Bottega Veneta signature lies in craftsmanship.
The BV show venue is a bit far from the city center of Milan but it’s really worth waking up to (show began promptly at 9am so we all had to wake up real early for it even after a long night haha)– who wouldn’t want to be given the exclusive opportunity to see a beautiful collection? 🙂 Funny because CNN’s Myleene Klass sat across from me and even had a photo taken with Anna Wintour (that early in the morning, to which Anna gladly obliged to!).
When it came to the ready-to-wear collection for Fall Winter 2014- 15, creative director Tomas Maier incorporated geometric shapes strategically but also made sure to keep it clean, elegant, and comfortably luxurious. Anyway, here are a few of my favorite looks in the collection:
I loove those booties!
Striking and elegant!
This dress is incredible!!
And now, the bags! The signature of Bottega Veneta bags? Craftsmanship!
The best leathers are always used for BV bags. This envelop clutch in croc is rich and luxurious, and incorporated Maier’s geometric theme for the season.
In bright pink!
I love the marriage of different patterns and textures on this!
A classic shape that can be carried as a hand bag, an arm- carry bag, as well as a shoulder bag.
My favorite bag this coming season, the bi-face top handle bag! There is no one “right” side because both sides are right 🙂 Again, functionality with luxury is key at Bottega Veneta. I especially love the all- python version, but there is also a leather with python trim version.
Ahhh the intrecciato woven leather is never absent in the bag collection!
And then there were the shoulder bags:
A lot of investment pieces for this coming season and what’s really good about Bottega Veneta is that the bags are “seasonless”, meaning they transcend seasons and trends because the styles are always consistently sophisticated and elegant.
Have you picked out your favorites? 🙂
