Kung Hei Fat Choy!

I’d like to take a moment to greet everyone, “Kung Hei Fat Choy!” 🙂

I love eating Nian Gao (aka New year cake, aka Tikoy), and would often ask friends in Hong Kong to send over some Maxim’s Nian Gao. But last year, I discovered the Shangrila Hotel tikoy and I haven’t asked for Maxim’s version ever since.

These stickies are pretty pricey at over Php 1k a pop compared to the regular tikoys which cost anywhere from Php 150 to Php 200. But I swear, the Shangrila tikoy is worth trying.

And in line with the beginning of Chinese New Year, everyone should be wearing something red. A friend even told me that peeps should wear new red underwear 😀 *Methinks it’s taking the red concept too far hahaha… unless you Do have new red underwear ready already!* Anyway, wearing red today is supposed to bring luck.

While I am still contemplating on whether to go all out and wear banquet red (yes, as in the “Chinese banquet tablecloth” red hehehe like the ones in Chinese restaurants), I figured pink should be just as good.

And if you still can’t imagine yourself wearing red or pink, why not just carry a Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Rose Neverfull? 😀There are pinks and reds in those roses, aren’t there? They should bring you luck too 😀

Nothing like substitution (and making your own rules) hahaha.

P.S. I’m still soo jetlagged. I haven’t even slept a wink yet, and it’s already 6am!
