I hafta interrupt my weekend promise of not blogging to mention to leave a short note about the Anya Hindmarch bags since so many people have been asking me about the “I’m not a plastic bag” tote.
1. Unfortunately, we don’t carry Anya Hindmarch “I’m not a plastic bag” totes at Tresor .Your best bet would’ve been to find someone who actually lined up to get the bags— that way you are sure it’s the real deal 🙂
2. I’ve seen a few fakes already– these fakes that I have seen (will post photos soon, and trust me, it’ll turn you off) are far too easy to detect from a mile away. The font size and width are all wrong. But I was told that there are real good fakes, and these are the ones I have yet to see. Someone asked if there is engraving on the Anya hardware. Again let me stress that this time, I cannot authenticate these bags especially if I can’t see the bags up close to even compare them with my own bag.
3. Black market price for the bag is about Php 5,000 (roughly US$80) or so I heard. You asked if it is worth the money to get one– frankly, if you didn’t get it at retail (US$15+), then I don’t think it’s worth paying over retail for it. The bag’s not made of leather but cheesecloth (or something sturdier than that but looks it). It’s a statement bag (it’s a bag that was made to raise public awareness about our wasteful usage of plastic bags, and how unbeknownst to many, does a lot of damage to the environment. The Anya bag is meant to be something like a grocery bag/ shopping bag, so instead of getting plastic bags from the shops, you just dump your purchased items into the Anya). It was never really meant to be an “it status” bag. So seriously hags, you don’t really lose much if you don’t have it. 🙂 Seriously, get a nice leather bag instead! 🙂 Oh, and learn to refuse plastic bags from now on. Do your part in saving the environment 🙂

speaking of fake anya hindmarch “im not a plastic bag”, there are some bags that are being sold on Ebay…one seller told me that it’s made in china and it’s not an original one but is an exact copy of it. i saw the photo of the bag and for me, it looks just the same…

seriously i use mine (it’s real) for shopping. i stuff it with my purchases, un plastic wrapped of course. it works even in SM. now we just have to convince national bookstore to stop over using plastic. they even double wrap a 14 peso pen if you buy there. annoying.

Anya Hindmarch created this bag for environmental awareness. But if people fly to buy, or import this, then the point gets cancelled out due to harmful aviation fuel. Using a plain brown bag from local paper could be a trendier way to make the same eco-fashion statement. Why not ask Team Manila to design a good one?
i think there’s no more waitlist for Anya’s bags in HongKong coz my dad just told me he got me one the other day… which i totally didn’t expect!
went to hk this weekend saw alot of anya fakes and it was easy to detect, went to vip station in hk they are selling an original anya -im not a plastic bag for hk2,000++ soo expensive for that type of bag would rather buy a second hand gucci card case in milan station or gucci cell strap than a jacked up price of an anya bag! would not buy the fake one, I agree with ms T that this was made for an environmental awareness its not for a status symbol =)
actually i went there to look for a goyard st louis PM and lv neverfull and it was all worth it!!!
