Granny Bags and the phantom furniture dilemma

I used to have this aversion to bags that remind me of old ladies *cough matrons*, but now, I’m going against the grain and embracing frame bags with open arms *Woohooo I’m officially going in the matrona direction haha :D*. I don’t have a serious “granny” bag yet, and I think it’s high time I consider buying one, that is, after I graduate from my financial burdens hehe. It’s funny I keep saying how broke I am, then I end up with a new bag. For those who remain baffled at this financial mystery of mine (talk about being good at accounting… or not hahaha), I actually resell my own bags which I no longer use. My reselling barometer is this– if I have not used a bag for over 5 months, then it’s time to sell it (of course I have exceptions too haha). Because frankly if I don’t resell my no-longer-used bags, there is a very high chance that I will completely forget about them one day. Oye, that’s additional money for the bag fund too!

This is really pathetic. Speaking of bag fund, I was having a conversation with my friend KY about how it has been almost 2 years since I first harped about not having furniture in our place. Well, time has passed, my baby is now a running toddler, bags have come and gone, and I still DON’T have furniture in my place *patheeeetic!!!*. So, that’s a Yes (well, semi- yes right now) to the bag fund, but a definite No to my furniture fund. What is up with THAT?! *hehehe hello I never said I was a furniture addict, did I?* Speaking of furniture, I owe Ron a great deal of apology for not having been able to attend FAME this year 🙁 Sorry hun, I know I missed a lot– heck I could’ve fallen in love with a good piece of furniture at the fair. *Sob*. (Ron, we’ll catch up soon, ok? :D)

Ok, anyway let me not disclose too much about the state of my furniture acquisition plan (really, what I have at home is pathetic hahaha). I meant to buy furniture but I can’t possibly afford those nice ones, and the thing is, even if I have beautiful furniture, I can’t use them out anyway (meaning, beautiful furniture is of no use to a selfish hag like me). What’s worse is, even if I do end up with beautiful furniture, no one wants to come to my house (because I have no drinks to serve nor food to eat hahaha I’m a baaad host!!) *boohoo Mrs.T has no friends! Sob sob :D*.

Anyway, back to what we’ve talked about– here are some bags that have caught my eye. Let’s not discuss anything about my friends (or my lack of *bawl*) or my furnitures now. I’m beginning to feel real bad *’coz I realize I don’t know how to prioritize hahaha*. Sorry to friends and family, you’ll hafta stick it out with mono block chairs and tables for now at my place 🙂 When the day comes that I no longer squander our furniture fund, I promise to buy us all a decent table and some nice chairs to go along with it *muwahahaha* There. I admitted I squandered the furniture fund. Hope you’re happy. *Scowl hehe*.

Zac Posen Aurora Frame Bag. Priced at £1,260.59, this bag is beautiful and so granny chic– make sure you don’t wear granny looking clothes or you’ll be seriously mistaken for one *hehe no amount of botox will spare you from this, trust me haha*. This bag’s got appeal, that’s for sure. A cool top, a pair of skinny jeans, them Prada banana heel shoes, and this bag? You’ve got the look going! Available at net-a-porter.com

Oscar De La Renta Larrabee frame bag. Another beautiful classic bag! I’ve always loved Oscar De La Renta dresses (and I’ve dreamed of owning a piece one day *sigh*), and now I have more reason to like the brand– this bag is a winner. I know, I don’t carry dark colored bags, but I am willing to make an exception for this bag because of the beautiful clasp detail, pleating, as well as that little dash of color on the “rings” of the bag. Priced at £1,890.90 and available at net-a-porter.com

Louis Vuitton Damier Trevi. I know, I know, I chose a Vuitton 🙂 *How can I not?! hehe*. I like the style of the Trevi, from the time an old baghag friend SharT alerted me to it, to the time I actually held the bag in my hand for test driving purposes :). I like the shape (though it somehow reminded me of the Chef bag of Fendi) although I wish the bag opening was a bit wider. Trevi GM at US$1,725 and available at eluxury.com

Hmm I have to sign off now. I just realized I need to get groceries for the house or we seriously won’t have anything to eat tonight *muwahaha dial 8-MCDO for MickeyD’s takeout hahahaha*
