Food Blog: Da Silvano, SoHo

It’s really good to be back in Manila to see my family. I honestly missed them so much!!! (those exclamation points do nothing to convey how much I missed them). Anyway, I have so much more to write about so let my being in back Manila not hinder more posts about the Big Apple and my trip 🙂
Let me start off day 2 in Manila with another food post from New York. I met up with fellow bloggers Wendy Lam of the very famous blog, www.nitrolicious.com (twitter.com/nitro_licious) and YM Wu (twitter.com/mryumingwu) in one of NY’s trendiest restaurants, Da Silvano. Wendy, YM, and I hit it off with Bryanboy back in Florence and it was great to be able to hang out with them again in their city 🙂
Da Silvano was a wonderful choice, as I was in an earlier meeting on 7th avenue with @DKNY’s top global PR girl (twitter.com/dkny) and she had likewise said great things about this restaurant, mentioning that there are frequent celebrity sightings there as well. So happy to be able to eat here.  No celebrity sighting there, but wait, Wendy IS a celebrity blogger 🙂 Super cool!! 🙂
Wendy and YM made sure we got ourselves a table for dinner.

Outdoor seating was already full when I got there.

I was really famished so I didn’t hesitate to order a lot (embarrassed about it now haha).

Beef carpaccio, as taken by YM. I couldn’t work the settings on my camera. And well, YM knows a lot about cameras and can “shoot” real well. So, thanks to YM for this food shot!

Wendy and YM shared the squid salad. Reminded me briefly of Pulpo Paul *hahaha ok bad joke. I love Pulpo Paul for predicting the World Cup win of Spain!*

I chose to have spaghetti vongole. I did not regret my choice. Da Silvano knows how to make Spaghetti Vongole. It was delicious! There were some fresh tomatoes on my pasta but it didn’t taint the pasta with its tarty taste. So I loved, loved, loved this. I could’ve eaten another serving, seriously.  I had to tone down the way I ate out of respect for my gracious hosts hahaha.

Here’s our photo, post- dinner. I had such a wonderful time being with Wendy and YM as we all traded stories about our blogs and about our trips. I can’t wait to host Wendy and YM when they visit Manila. I hope they do visit, as they’ve become great industry friends 🙂
Oh and before I end this post, I cannot not post a photo of Wendy’s black bag, the Alexander Wang Rocco duffle. I love it on her! She carries it so well!
P.S. Speaking of bloggers, my story about top fashion bloggers is published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer today. The edited version can be read HERE  but if you have the opportunity to get a copy of the paper today, please do. Featured are Nitrolicious.com, Bryanboy.com, Bagsnob.com, Chicmuse.net
