Elbert’s Cheesesteak Sandwiches

Pardon this random musing of mine– I am soooo hooked on the Manila Diamond Hotel Coffee Shop’s Kohikan Macha Green tea shake topped with a generous serving of whipped cream. I was so sad when Kohikan Coffee Shop closed in Greenhills, and am only too happy to find out that Manila Diamond Hotel Coffee Shop (gosh I’m not even sure if that’s what they’re called– the coffee shop right outside National Book Store) carries select Kohikan products. Quite frankly, I don’t need caffeine in my life (after all, I am an insomniac and caffeine could just worsen my condition), but the ones I have continuously craved for (and are my faves) are: Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf’s Genmaicha, Manila Diamond Hotel’s Macha, and Starbuck’s Green tea latte. Do you see a trend here? I just looove green tea. And these are the reasons why I love hanging out at Rockwell 😉 And oh, there’s yet ANOTHER reason why I love Rockwell!

For all you meat lovers and sandwich lovers out there, you will be pleased to know that Elbert’s Cheesesteak Sandwiches (located at P1- Food area, beside Aji Ichiban) will be opening tomorrow! Lucky me got treated to a steak sandwich of my choice by none other than The Steak Man *hehehe sorry Elbert, I have to baptize you this way* himself, Elbert Cuenca (also of Elbert’s Steak Room, which I so love).

The Cheesesteak menu:
It was a no-brainer for me. I decided on the Provolone sandwich because I love “gummy” cheese.
They cook your “steak” in front of you… it smelled soooo good especially with the cheese 🙂 Now the verdict: the bread was wonderful and soft, and the caramelized onions were good on their own– I picked it off the sandwich and ate it separate haha. (Ok so I’m weird)

Here’s my steak sandwichJuicy, flavorful, and just perfect! *Sigh… I think I can finish 2 full sandwiches…*

Suffice to say, Elbert’s Cheesesteak Sandwiches is going to be my go-to place for that quick steak fix! Go visit Cheesesteak Sandwiches tomorrow, Sunday February 1 and taste for yourself! 🙂

I tried the steak w/ american cheddar and the pizza cheesesteak version with provolone. Both are very good, great portion of meat, great bread with excellent seasonings. Well done!
