I couldn’t contain my excitement when I was told I would be one of the 6 bloggers who will “dress up” a shop window at the Dolce & Gabbana flagship store in Milan (Via Spiga 26). I was even more stunned when I was told this was going to be an event itself, named Dress Me Up (www.dressmeup.dolcegabbana.com)!
The idea was for us bloggers to pick out pieces from the Spring/ Summer 2011 collection and dress up the store windows using the clothes + accessories + bags. Now, I’m not much of a clotheshorse nor am I a style blogger but bags, I must say I love and know. So this was really a big treat for me 🙂 Imagine the whole flagship store of Dolce & Gabbana becomes our closet for the night!
I was in excellent company with “front-row-all-the-way-at-shows” Bryanboy, Denni aka Chicmuse, Kristin aka The Clothes Whisper for the night. Style Bubble and The Glamourai had to do their windows ahead of time because they had to catch a flight.
I was the last one to arrive at the event, so it was quite crazy that looks I had in mind were also the ones that were in the minds of fellow blogger- dressers 🙂 So my initial “picks” got taken 😀 *I love how the other bloggers used the jackets/coats I super love!!*
Ok, now I’m actually quite ashamed to say I was the last one to finish of all 4 bloggers *hehehe oh and I am the oldest too hahaha*. I tell you, it’s not easy to “style” looks! Not easy at all, so I have even more respect for stylists now! 🙂 I can dress for myself, but to dress someone else (or a mannequin) is really a different matter! *Whew!*
Anyway, here are my looks– I initially wanted to do 3 but ended up with 4 (I didn’t get around to photograph the 4th though)

After the event, Bryan and I headed to Dolce & Gabbana Gold for dinner, and guess who we saw? Domenico Dolce! Bryan had sirloin and I had a lovely lamb loin entreé for dinner and topped the meal with a nice coconut creme and rhum banana mousse. Surprise of all surprises, Domenico pays for our dinner- it was seriously surreal! The whole week ended amazingly well– and that night really capped it off.
What a way to have our last dinner in Milan too! THANK YOU DOLCE & GABBANA for a very unforgettable experience, and thank you as well for dinner! See you soon!
