I’ve been asked by Hermes bag- loving peeps time and again if the Hermes birkin in 35cm would suit their petite frames. I have on the other hand always maintained that it is entirely up to you and your comfort level when it comes to carrying a bag with a certain size.
You do remember Katie Holmes carrying a huge 50cm Haut a Courroies “birkin” (technically it’s called a HAC, but it is also a birkin style) on a day/ night out. While many had thought she was rather absurd for carrying such a size, I believe that she sported the bag quite well and seemed very comfortable carrying it.
That might have been a little extreme a size comparison but here is something more realistic– Rachel Bilson who stands 1.57m (about 5’2″) is seen toting her 35cm birkin while out with her fiancé Hayden Christensen.
The petite- framed actress did not seem to be overpowered by the 35cm at all, so the bag size for a height like hers really doesn’t look “off”. Plus with a 35cm, you can really stuff your bag– there may only be a 5cm difference between that and the smaller 30cm, but 5cm really packs in so many more things *that we don’t necessarily need to bring with us but still do anyway :D*
