Bottega my Bottega!

*Sigh* I just took a look at the Bottega Veneta Resort 2008 Collection and it made me miss my own Bottega (which now belongs to a lovely baghag :D). But since I acquired something new (which I am not really ready to reveal just yet haha), I had to let one bag in my collection go. The Bottega I had to “set free”: happens to be one of my favorite bags. But if you know me personally, you will know that I hardly ever carry brown bags. You see, while I love wearing these dark colors, in my heart I was never really inclined to carry dark colored bags. Maybe my appreciation for more neutral colored bags will be reborn as I mature *cough age*. But in all honestly, blacks and dark browns are the easiest colors to maintain in terms of bags. You hardly see scuff or dirt. Bah. Anyway going back to mourning over the adieu of my BV, I turned to style.com for a quick Bottega fix.

And my eyes were treated once more to bag beauties. The opener for the Resort 2008 Collection was this beautiful multicolored intrecciato cabas (or cabat, as some have spelled it). This is a bag that I can conceivably carry because it marries a dark neutral with the brights. Oh how beautiful… *dreamy look*.

Aha! Proof that you can just get yourself a small designer pochette (cosmetic pouch even) to use as a purse, especially if your pockets are just as shallow as mine *hehe just a “whiff of luxury indeed!* . You can carry that cosmetic pouch out for events and dinners 🙂 It IS ok! *woohoo lemme whip out my pewter Bottega cosmetic pouch– I still do own a Bottega after all haha all is not yet lost haha*

I love the color on this bag although I probably won’t be able to get myself to use it (I gave up red bags and red clothes after my Daddy’s passing). This bag is actually a little bit on the brick red side (red with browns), unless I’m color blind hehe.. Can anyone concur with me on this color?

Another beautiful style. From this angle, it has the look and shape of the Balenciaga motorcyle bag (weekend tote). It’s so luxurious.

Oye oye, a BV bag that you can sling across your body? That’s news to me!

The gold is baaack. Chanel did it, and of course not to be beat, BV has its version too.

The collection wouldn’t have been complete without their signature intrecciato hobo in chocolate brown *sniff… it’s almost like the one I had to say au revoir to.. sniff*. Gorgeous bag, isn’t it? It has transcended time and trend.

BV also continued with their production of fabric bags with leather braided handles such as this one. A season or two ago, these fabric bags were done in solid colors, and this time, it’s prints. Still rather expensive for the price, so I’d rather go with all-leather when it comes to Bottega.

So if you are growing tired of the monogram-centric bag world that we currently live in, try the understated elegance that Bottega Veneta brings. It’s not exactly nondescript, but I guess you can say it’s subtler than the logo-a-gogo bags 😀

I shall rest a happy baghag tonight 🙂 Thanks to the new Bottega collection which we will all hopefully see in the flesh, and get to test drive at our very own BV boutique at Greenbelt 4. 🙂

Have a good weekend, hags! Meanwhile, I shall enjoy my weekend with my newly “cleaned”skin haha. I finally reached break point and paid my dermatologist a loooong overdue visit last night to have my acne farm nuked into oblivion. Hahaha think 5 years of absolutely no visits to my skin doctor. Unlike many of you baghags, I was not born with flawless skin *bawl.. this is such a hangup of mine* hehe… but hah! My skin will be back in fight form soon… I hope 🙂
