Banana Republic at the New Shangri-la Plaza Mall

I’ve been here in San Francisco with the family for a few days now, and battling jetlag aside, I was reminiscing about my college days when my free time was spent in malls (haha, no surprise, I was a mall rat). Shopping for clothes back then were a no- brainer, what with college outfits consisting of university logo and Gap sweatshirts (even then, I was into logos haha), tees, and jeans. And then for something a little more special (not just sweatshirts) I shopped at Banana Republic.

I have to hand it to Banana Republic because years later, their style continues to be classic and close to the brand’s original DNA (back in my days). Pieces from yesteryears never went out of style. High street clothing these days has become disposable (though not necessarily cheaper), and I am frankly quite tired of buying pieces that get ruined easily– tears on the material and stitches unravel after 3 washes. So in the age of disposable clothing, pieces that have a long shelf life are much appreciated– and that’s Banana Republic.

When Banana Republic opened in the Philippines years ago, I was very happy and was a quiet patron. Banana Republic has since opened another store at the new Edsa Shangri-la Plaza Mall,

and since I was in the area for a doctor’s appointment, I took the opportunity to check out the new collection as well as shop for things that were currently on sale (my lucky day).

The collection included these pretty pastel pants.

BR also produced very affordable and of-quality clutch bags that won’t burn a hole in your pocket!

Banana Republic has a wide variety of work wear as well as resort/ weekend wear for the modern and confident woman.

I am loving the seersucker jacket, perfect to pair with shorts or ankle length pants and those wedges.

I scored a beautiful long coral dress (eveningwear) that was priced incredibly well too! And this is one of my favorite looks– stripes! Perfect to wear when I go visit the America’s Cup Park here in San Francisco 🙂

If you get a chance to swing by the new Shangri-la Plaza Mall (which also houses a real good ramen place– I forgot the name, but it’s also planning to open in Rockwell Powerplant Mall), do pass by Banana Republic! I guarantee you’ll end up walking away with something 🙂

The new Banana Republic store is located on Level 3 of the new Shangri-la Plaza Mall.
