Bags to have Under Php 15,000– and in Manila!

Hidey ho, baghags! So so sorry I haven’t blogged in the last 2 days. Been super busy trying to finish errands before going on my much-needed break. I missed blogging but it was also somewhat liberating to not blog. But oh my oh my the comments page hahaha! I’m ALIVE hags!!! 🙂 It’s really funny what a few days of not updating my blog can do to the comments page! To answer some of your questions (in general), let me address the issue of my continuous self-degradation *hehehe you loooove to dissect this, admit it!*

Well, I actually find myself laughing *at myself* each time I publish something self-derogatory because I actually sooo feel what I write! I think while some people will balk at writing something negative or defamatory about themselves (as in they’d rather go into embolic shock than say something funny about themselves), I actually find it comforting to know that I can easily identify my flaws and even my nasty habits *like being a clutter monster and never wanting to clean up! I know, I know, I myself am annoyed at that incorrigible habit, but as they say, old habits die hard :D*. Though I can say I have accomplished certain personal goals for the year 2006 *bragging again, puke!!*, I am still nothing compared to the others who have more deserving and noteworthy accomplishments. Like I said, at the end of the day, it’s really about sleeping well at night, and not worrying that the next day, stinkypoopies might happen because you treated someone like topsoil a few months ago *snicker, what a way to say it haha*. Be nice, be nice, be nice! Especially now that it’s Christmas *or else Santa won’t be bringing you nice pressies! hehe gulp, freeloading again*. At the end of the day, you have a lot to be thankful for– a nice home (no leaky roof), a wonderful family (no arguments over money), a supportive loved one (one who stands by you even if you stink like a skunk), an amazing job (with perks to boot), connections in high places *tsk tsk, note to self, must social climb some more haha*, and for us baghags, at least one wonderful bag (that we loooove to death :D).

Pssst, let’s not get too sentimental again here, I actually teared up the last time I wrote something sentimental *I’m such a sucker for sobbies* As for my self-esteem, quite frankly, I have very low self-esteem (but I don’t mind, really. So thanks for volunteering me as part of some guinea pig/ test group for your shrink *teeheeehee*). Honestly though, I am happy the way I am, I enjoy this self-degradation just because it makes me laugh too 🙂 So don’t worry about my mental health *yet*. If I should mentally implode *don’t paint a mental picture ‘coz it’s pretty gruesome, brains and all haha*, I promise you’ll all be privy to that information 😀

Now, in preparation for my vacation, I would like to announce that TRESOR WILL BE CLOSED FROM DECEMBER 19 to JANUARY 15. Everything resumes on JANUARY 16 🙂 Not like it’s a super popular site or anything, but I would appreciate letting your friends know about that– I wouldn’t want to upset them by thinking that I was too snooty to respond to their queries *I will still try to reply :D* But I’m on vacation 🙂 *this baghag is in need… correction… is in DIRE NEED of a vacation. Even if I’m jobless haha*

A few hags have been asking what bags I would be recommending to get for Christmas while here in Manila. So here they are: Under Php 15,000 *woohoo!*, and are available in Manila 🙂

Talula Shopper by Veruschka. These rich caramel cowhide leather handbags have yellow topstitching, and its buckle strap comes in 5 colors: bubblegum pink, lime, eggplant, denim, and orange. Inner pockets are dyed to match the buckle belt. Why I like this bag– it’s a nice big bag (12H x 9L x 5W), and well, the color is neutral enough to match almost anything in your wardrobe. And the price is also pretty reasonable at Php 5,880. Available at Backstage boutique, 2/F San Lorenzo Arcade, Pasay Road Makati. Or you can call the designer straight at (0922) 827-9988.

Aranaz Disco Queen Bag. I enjoy looking at most of Amina’s bags because she puts her heart into creating each piece, and it clearly shows. This disco queen bag is indeed fit for royalty (as this bag was also dubbed the “Queen of queens”by the designer herself ). I love the embellishments of mother-0f-pearl, Swarovski crystals, and beads on this particular bag. If you have a lot of parties to attend (and are too lazy to “dress up”), then this bag will speak for you. High marks for this particular piece– a plus too, knowing that this piece was all made entirely by hand. Priced at Php 9,000 and also comes in plum *another vavavoom color!*. Aranaz is located at the PowerPlant Mall Lifestyles Section at Rockwell.

Louis Vuitton damier azur mini pochette. Of course I had to put this bag in my list. One, it’s an LV (the brand speaks for itself), and two, this bag IS under Php 15,000! *Yes, there is a bag under Php 15k in the House of Monogram* I love this mini pochette because it’s the cutest little itty bitty thing, and it can actually hold something– credit cards and mad money *in case your DH/bf/ loved one decides to ditch you on your date haha*. Kidding aside, it can work as one of those bags within your bag. I.e. if you are working and need a quick run to a store, just bring a bit of cash into that and go. No need to lug your big bag around. Priced at Php 12,300 at Louis Vuitton Greenbelt 4. (of course if you don’t get the damier azur coz it’s sold out, the monogram mini pochette is a good second choice :D)
Maldita beaded bag. I saw this bag today at the Maldita boutique (well it was a HUGE shop) at Mall of Asia. I liked the bag because it somehow reminded me of the Chloe bracelet bag. I was not too keen on purchasing something as expensive as a Chloe bag with heavy beads and all, so this mutant of the Chloe bracelet bag would work (I used the word “mutant” in a positive way by the way :D). *Kicking myself in the head* I actually didn’t catch the price of this bag because when I went in to ask, I saw a Kate Torralba multi-colored caftan that was 50% off *yeah I paid Php 800 for a full length caftan by Kate!*. So I ended up walking away with that, thereby completely forgetting about the bag! *Horrors, behavior unbecoming of a baghag wannabe!* But if you get the chance to visit Maldita, do ask about that bag and look at it up close *and tell me about it*. It looked interesting from the shop window.

So wait, a few nights ago, I had dinner with my old girlfriends, jewellery designer *psst, her charm necklaces would also make wonderful presents!!* DaphP (Urban Zone/ANC Life), MelC (Metro), and JoanS (Metro Weddings). We had a nice dinner at Balducci’s at Serendra (Balducci’s is also owned and operated by the L’Opera group). The consensus was, the food was rather salty (but I love salty, so it was all good for me). *Sorry no food shots!* Apres dinner, we decided to head over to Krispy Kreme to buy a boxful of donuts each. So here’s the parting shot of the girls *sans moi– but represented by my blue Goyard (to the left of MelC) :D*. And to our bag-loving friend FionaL in London, here’s a holler out– “WE MISS YOU!!!”

P.S. I know I sound real cheesy using my blog to thank peeps, but alas I am too lazy to actually send handwritten thank you notes to everyone *tsk I should seriously do that*. As of late though, I’d rather type than write since I have really lousy penmanship *and my friends can attest to this fact*. EA got me a wonderful set of books which included one that I was eyeing for quite some time. Thank you so much, and girl, get well soon!!

P.P.S. TRESOR may be closed for the holidays, but my personal bag-shopping services are available 🙂 If you have bags that you’ve been eyeing but had no way of getting since the stores don’t ship to the Philippines, email me at tresormakati@gmail.com or let me know via (+63916) 758-0857 and perhaps we can work something out for you 🙂 *Sorry for the shameless plugging :D*

xx
