Bag Review: The Bally Sommet Bag

For Bally’s Fall Winter 2014 collection, the standout bag was the Bally Sommet tote. It looked really nice at the presentation but I never got the chance to actually carry the bag around.

This June, thanks to Bally, I was given a beautiful monogrammed taupe Sommet! I didn’t realize how versatile this bag was until I began using it. It looked like a heavy bag but when I started toting it around, it was a lot lighter than a Hermes birkin. The Sommet looks sleek because of the absence of hardware.

Contrast colored interior lining. The bag also has an interior belt which cinches the sides. Should you want the bag to look more streamlined, then you “belt” the sides in.

But if you need the additional space for a laptop and some work documents, release the belt, and you get a larger sized bag instantly!

The bag also comes in exotic leathers as well as smooth calfskin but the one I’m toting is made with pebbled leather, which to me is the best because it will be able to handle daily use and will definitely not be as prone to scratches.

The Bally Sommet bag is already available at Bally boutiques worldwide. Go check out the bag for yourself. I haven’t been a “big bag” person for quite a bit, but for daytime work and definitely for travel, I highly, highly recommend this bag!
