BAG REVIEW: Spring 2007 from Vogue.Fr

I must be becoming a neurotic manic-depressive woman. OR my PMS is just getting worse *age, you know* This week (Monday), my happiness just lies in three things: 1. hanging out with my sweet kids 2. meeting new baghags and hanging out with old ones 😀 *hehee not old as in old age hehe* , 3. having a great dinner with my family *my mom and my siblings always have a great time*, 4. Surf-shopping for bags *tsk tsk internet addict anonymous*. Make me do anything else now and I would rather crawl back to bed. Hooo boy I MUST be PMS’ing real bad this month… Tsk that’s what happens when you go into your 30s… *muwahahaha admitting old age so soon!*

Bah, who wants to hear my boring PMS’y life when there’s much more to talk about! For starters, here are some of the Spring-Summer 2007 bags (all from Vogue.fr) to watch out for and boy am I drooling already!

Hermes Lindy in Rose Dragee swift leather. Oh, oh, oh what a beautiful color and a beautiful bag! Thanks to Naomi Campbell (hmmm should we reallly thank the infamous NaomiC? *photo from TPF*), this bag is also one-hot-commodity. It’s like a close relative to the Hermes Kelly/Birkin *even price wise– hello, over $6,000!*, and has both the beauty of a double- handled bag as well as a shoulder strap. It’s a dream to have a bag like this simply because it can now “function” better than the birkin or the kelly. The bag even has this twist lock! Tsk, loooving it!! As of early last week, Hermes didn’t get the Lindy bags yet. Just an Hermes brighton blue kelly (looked like indigo in the photo, but it’s brighton) and garden party bag, bolide, trim etc.

Lacroix’s belted bag. Oooooh something beautiful from Lacroix has caught my eye! It’s a belted handbag with all these shiny gold hardware topped with beautiful contrasting red handles (think Fendi Spy’s white-red combo which was gorgeous). I am reallly loving this bag A LOT. And having that bottom compartment helps out in the decision of why I love the bag. I gotta find out more about this bag and where I can get this! *wooooh hooooo now one more bag to save up for!!!!*

Lacroix elephant bag. It used to be that Moschino would come up with these funky designed bags. Think this Gingerbreadman suede clutch (which I know I would’ve been able to make myself, *hello artsy fartsy baghag* but ahh the sheer ingenuity of making the Gingerbread man into a pochette!) .I still remember too, wanting that “pasta” bag of Moschino, and then much earlier, their en-pointe ballet slipper bags. I got neither by the way *wanted them but it just didn’t seem practical to get… but now boy do I regret… well not really. They were a tad too pricey*. And now, Lacroix joins the quirky bag bandwagon and produces this elephant bag (which my DT would sooo love haha). It’s adorable! Hmm I wonder if I can get something like this in Thailand haha *cheapskate baghag alert!!*.

Chanel clear plastic classic flap bag with chains. Remember the tragic London bombings *a very sad day… sigh* where travelers were forced to carry clear bags as “handcarries” on the plane? Well I remember around that time, I did mention to DaphP and to our Metro editor MelC that we should make these clear bags and put leather trims on them. That way, even the uber die hard fashionista won’t be caught dead carrying a clear plastic bag. *muwahaha I bet so many of those die-hards would’ve rather stayed home than be seen with those Gawd awful bags* Whaddayaknow, the Kaiser must’ve been thinking the same thing when he came up with this bag 😀 *I can imagine taking this bag with me to Boracay hahaha… not like I’ve ever been there yet.. go ahead and make fun of that fact, but it’s true.. chortle*

Chanel mustard minaudiere with crystal clasp. It looks like a croc minaudiere that was dipped in some type of clear lacquer. Or is it Mother of Pearl? Either ways, I am loving it. It’s too gorgeous!!

Chanel 2.55 with oh-I-don’t-know… pasted charms? Ok. Why ruin a perfectly beautiful bag by cheapening it and making it look like a Luella bag? Tsk… This is Chanel’s “oh-I-don’t-know” bag. Baptized by moi. *muwahaha Biatchy baghag gives a tongue-lashing!!*

And last but not least, can someone tell me if this Chanel bag is a backpack? If it is, wooohooo it marks a return to the Chanel backpack. About 9 years ago, this was the ubiquitous Chanel backpack carried by the fashionable set, and yes, the very same backpack which was sooo sold out in all the boutiques! I wish they made that white S/S07 backpack in the classic leather quilts! And I’ll carry it– haha return to bag innocence (the days when backpacks were soo carried by our generation hahaha) *Sob that statement made us former backpack-carrying baghags sound soooooo prehistoric!*.

Sigh, thank goodness for this post. This bag review post was like my picker upper (normally it would be sugar/ chocolates), and today I don’t think I gained weight after the picker upper. Need more of these. Yo designers, churn out more fantastic bags for us baghags to lust for!!! If all our problems in reality can only be solved by taking one glance at hot bags, then there’d be happy and peaceful peeps abound 🙂

Night hags! I feel the need to crawl to bed. Sigh, this PMS thing sucks big time 🙁 I’m soooo cranky like an old, constipated fart 😀 *eeew graphic!!*

P.S. You MUST go to Louis Vuitton and check out these SUPER HOT wedges. I was SOOOO in love with them. It’s priced at Php 42,700 *sticker shock for me*. That was the highlight of my day, by the way. *SAD* But no, I didn’t come home with the shoes. They’re a tad too expensive… but EAI and I were in discussion about these shoes and I came to the conclusion that although I am sooo in love with them, I would just hold off that purchase urge. I can’t go on a buying spree when I’m depressed or PMS’ing. It’s a lotta money for a pair of shoes… and DH can’t even afford these. Hellooooo he’d have a coronary if I decided to pick these up with his credit card, which I am actually proud to say, I have never “abused”– the last time I used his card was to buy myself a new Nokia phone which cost Php 8k (this was done last April 2006, if I’m correct). Bah. So much for my status as a golddigging and materialistic baghag. I can’t even friggin’ live up to that title *Muwahaha I’m a fake tai tai, I’m afraid* Sooo, Mrs.T did the *gulp* financially correct thing. Instead of preparing to swim in the deep debt sea, she decides against purchasing the shoes. I heard myself saying, “Save money!!” *WOW lookit lookit I have financial discipline now* (thereby perfectly masking my current impoverished state hahaha) But pssst, if YOU have the moolah, and you looove high heels, GET THESE SHOES!!! Trying them on my feet made me soooo happy today. Thanks to the LV SAs who were kind enough to let me wear ’em on my feet for a few minutes. It made my day 😀

P.P.S. Louis Vuitton addicts out there, please help me identify this model. For once, the claim-to-know-it-all baghag is stumped 😀

P.P.P.S. I forgot to make mention of this beautiful handpainted wooden bangle! This was given to me by baghag BL and I am loooving this particular piece. *Thanks again MissB!* I wore it on Chinese New Year (anything bright works haha lookit, I was channeling the Christmas tree look) 😀 I am hoping to carry the artist’s pieces soon 🙂

And last (I promise this is the last for tonight), BRAG-A-BAG/S!!!

Totally cool mom MC took it upon herself to track down this gorgeous Tods yellow D bag (which thebaghag featured and adored!). It is just as gorgeous in real life as it is in photos! I would’ve totally bought this bag if I didn’t have my yellow Bottega yet! Love it love it loooove it!!!

Dr.GB’s loot for the year 2007 consists of the Goyard Jeanne MM, the YSL Muse, and the Chanel 2.55… all in black 🙂 *whistle!!! THAT’s what I call LOOT!*

And is this beautiful custom-painted white Goyard St.Louis PM (not to be mistaken for the Junior size) still up for grabs? I looove the color combination!! *I’m biased. Because my own white Kios is in this color combination haha*
