BAG REVIEW: Spring 2007 Bags of Eluxury

I don’t honestly quite know what to make of Derek Lam’s violet satchel, priced at US$1,950. It reminds me of those $20 knockoff (not fake) bags that are sold at Forever 21. Don’t get me wrong. You get what you pay for with a $20 bag from the likes of Charlotte Russe and Forever 21, but to pay a ridiculously high amount of US$1,950 that just looks like a US$20 bag (well take away that “C” ring detail)? I think I’d rather stick to the US$20 one. I’ll take my business to Forever 21 for a similar bag, thank you very much. *Baghag biiiiiatch alert!!!*

Another interesting bag is Marc by Marc Jacobs’ Viva La Val bag for US$458. I don’t quite get this bag, but it’s got its cuteness factor (I must say this though, I am over “cuteness”… It’s matronic stuff that works for me now haha). For a Marc Jacobs bag (well, not quite Marc Jacobs, but you get the picture), this is fairly inexpensive already. That red pushlock detail really does sorta throw you off (it did it for me). One thing though, it looks as if this bag can carry lots of your stuff that you normally would’ve left at home. And that means it’s all good 🙂

Fendi Spy in cracked patent leather. Just when you think Fendi can’t mutate the Spy anymore (and I mean, MUTATE), out comes this same style in cracked patent leather. I wonder if this is a better leather choice. Bah, but what do I know about leather anyway! At least though your clothing won’t do any color transfers onto the bag– just because it’s black. It’s very interesting to see this patent leathered spy in a different color though. This black bag is way too S&M for me *teehee* but hey, this bag does bring out the S&M in all of us *muwahaha ohhh beee-haaaaave!!*. Priced at US$2,270.

Kooba white Natasha bag. The silver turnlock made the bag look so Chanel. It made me do a double take… Chanel on eluxury? Woops, it’s a Kooba tote! This bag gets high marks from me. It has adjustable sides so the bag can be worn two different ways– as a larger tote, or as a folded-up one. It’s so versatile and is just so perfect for Spring Summer. Priced at US$625. Not much else needs to be said.

Versace Snap Out of It Metallic silver bag. *ALERT: Thebaghag biatches in 3…2…1* This is the perfect name for the bag– and it is meant for Donatella Versace. Oye Donatella, “Snap out of it! Stop producing these bugly bags!” I know this could very well be a matronista magnet, but pssst, I am a matronista and there is just no love lost between me and this silver thingamajig. Someone should really give her a buzz and tell her to SNAP OUT OF IT. And for US$2,075? I vote we send this bag straight to the bargain bin. Ugh two thumbs down. *Thebaghag biatch is DEFINITELY BACK!!!*

Ok enough biatching for one entry. Biatching takes a lot of energy out of me, and this baghag needs to recuperate 😀 By the way, has anyone bought anything from the SSI bag sale? Do tell!!

P.S. To my dear comment poster who was looking for Mr.Assogna of Bottega Veneta, please email me at tresormakati@gmail.com so I can give you his contact information in Hong Kong. Cheers~

P.P.S. TRESOR is back up! 🙂
