I have found the perfect Chinese New Year bag and it is from Loewe. The red Amazona is really so perfect for the occasion, red being a color of prosperity, happiness, and luck for the Chinese (and I suppose everyone now :D)!
There is no need for a lengthy explanation on why I like the Amazona bag– it is a very nice and functional east- west bag with two zippers that meet, so there is no right or wrong side when you carry the bag. The length of the handles are also just right– the bag can either be carried on the crook of your arm or on your shoulder to keep your hands free.
2014 is also the Year of the Horse, and that golden horse padlock is so spot on for this year! It looks like carrying this bag a lot this year will bring you lots and lots of good luck 😉

Tonight is also the big Chinese New Year countdown party over at Mandarin Oriental Manila, where there will be a grand fireworks display, blessings and the year’s forecast by resident fengshui master Joseph Chau, as well as a sumptuous midnight lauriat dinner to jumpstart the good luck for the new year.
