TRAVELOG: TJ Maxx bag review!

Who says I don’t shop at bargain stores? The sole reason for my existence on this planet (as a baghag) is to smoke out good deals at bargain stores! We went to TJ Maxx, a local favorite of mine. There are hardly any designer bags there, but that’s not the point. At TJ Maxx, I have found some bags whose brands I’ve never even heard of, and they’re quite nice too. Here are some interesting ones.

Xoxo
black cabas bag. This bag looks like Chanel hehe. But oye, this bag is just US$10. Cheap right? I think the problem lies in the workmanship, hence the accompanying price tag. But then again, there are baghags who never stick to one bag forever, so I guess this is one of those “seasonal” bags that will be forgotten in a few months. Someone’s bound to buy the bag. It’s cheap! Seriously!

Sofia C. black patent leather top with green flannel bottom. US$80. See, I have never heard of this brand, but the workmanship is quite good too.

Paolo Masi
chevron pattern leather bag in dusty rose. US$150. This bag is actually something else. It’s sooo soft to the touch (like a Bottega!). My only problem with the bag was, the braided handles kinda hurt my shoulder when I carried it. But this bag is a winner.

Marzia old rose leather bag. US$130. Nice lock. Nice color. But nah, I wouldn’t carry this. The leather is also really soft. But the style I think it’s a little too outdated, no?

Michael Kors Monogram hobo. US$180. I think this is the most expensive bag in TJ Maxx. I guess logo-a-gogo bags still rule supreme even in this store.

That’s all the bag talk I have for now. Til my next post *which will include food hehe* 🙂

1. RubyG: thanks for the heads up on the Prada shoes. This hag finally got her pair in gunmetal! *sigggghhhh they’re not that comfy but darn, they look good on the feet!*
2. Blairbitch: Anyone can be called a baghag as long as he/she has an appreciation for bags. You don’t have to be a “collector” to be a baghag. It’s a term that I like to use loosely so as to encompass all who love bags– whether they’re designer or not.
3. Counterfeit bag industry comment: first off, I’d appreciate if you end your post with a nickname (coz I actually despite the idea of replying to “nobody” haha. *Air*). Second, you have a valid point. But just as you suggested, I too, hope that you don’t support the “fakes” industry. As for me– I have priorities *haha bag priorities*– I personally don’t shell out money to buy DVDs except for those Barney dinosaur and Brit kiddie shows which I get in Rustan’s *for my kids* 🙂
4. Anonymous: (ugh leave a nickname please!!) No, there are no Hermes birkins here at the moment *sob*. There’s a birkin drought here!!! There are Kelly bags though– there’s even one in that new color, cafe. It’s quite nice and rich!
