Travelog: Thebaghag leaves Singapore (Day 3)

Day 3 went by rather fast. MC left earlier for Kuala Lumpur, and I went back to sleep when she left and woke up rather late!! Oh My Oh My the day was wasted!!! I had to ring up my nephew and tell him to move our appointment since I needed to go back to Paragon.

I was so hungry already. Boy, this Singapore trip was really relaxing and all I did was eat and walk around and window shop (yes, I’m telling you again, I was a GOOD HAG, I DID NOT buy anything for myself– ask MC! :D). So when I passed by Isetan’s underground walkway (to cross Scott’s Road), I just decided to stop over Pepper Lunch.
Pepper Lunch is this little Japanese fast food place that served all these yummy looking Kalbi beef dishes on hot plates. So I ordered the curry beef rice, green tea, and a side of miso soup. I spent something like SG$ 13 on the whole meal. When the food was brought to my table, OooOooh Yuuuuummmmmmm…. The meat was still raw and was cooking over the heat of the hotplate, and I was supposed to mix this with either the barbeque honey sauce or the garlic soysauce on the condiments rack. I chose the garlic soy.

It was SOOO GOOOD! I wonder, why can’t anyone bring this fastfood place back to Manila? I think I’ll be patronizing that place weekly for sure. It was just real good. I got sad again thinking I was already leaving this country today. I will surely miss all the food here 🙁

I also passed by the grocery of Isetan briefly to see what was available. I saw these little rice balls smothered in some sweet sauce and the other one in red bean paste. They looked sooooo good to eat!! *sigh, I wish we had these things back home!*

I also passed by Old Chang Kee. I love Old Chang Kee. They used to have a branch in Robinson’s Galleria’s foodcourt and I used to order their hainanese chicken for lunch alllll the time!

Anyway then I hurriedly hopped over to Paragon to exchange something.
Tod’s
has these new multi-pocket bags which reminded me of the older Prada multi-pocket bags. They look like bag mutants, but I found them real cute nonetheless 🙂

Versace… Oh my. What’s been happenin’ to Gianni’s house of Versace, Donatella? It’s just been so consistent— one miss after the other 🙁 I am so disappointed 🙁 I am not liking this bag at all. Too much hardware. It’s like a hybrid of the Marc Jacobs Stam bag (the Stam being the much, much nicer bag!)

Valentino. I am liking the formal bags of Valentino. Remember I had posted about a saffron yellow satin clutch? Well I am also liking this rose pink one.

Anya Hindmarch. They had some cutesie sequin bags on display, but the other bags are not as nice as the original Anyas when they first came out.

Miumiu has that cute ruched leather bag too.

Jean Paul Gaultier. Hmmm interesting brown bag and interesting store 🙂

I had to rush back to the hotel, but passed by local Singaporean designer Francis Cheong’s boutique first. I then had to check out and meet my nephew who was going to accompany me to the airport. I don’t even remember Singapore’s airport terminal! (I haven’t been to Singapore this long!! What on earth was I thinking, not coming to visit here? It’s a beautiful city!!)

I hurriedly checked in my one piece luggage– SEE, just ONE piece! Even my nephew was like, “you only have ONE luggage?”. My hand-carry bag is my trusted old purple Longchamp bag 🙂 *can’t leave home without that and Goyard!!*

After our goodbyes (boy that was a brief “meet-up” haha– sorry I promise to visit you again hehe!), I went through immigration and ta-dahhh, airport shopper’s paradise 🙂

There were: Hermes, Gucci, Burberry, Prada… and a whole row of electronics and toys for the big boys *teehee a place I’d never go into– hello I’m sooo not tech savvy, puhlease!*

Time sure flies! It was boarding time already. I had to say byeeee to this beautiful city with a well- stocked airport 🙂 I promise to come back again soon. To the Singaporeans reading my shallow blog, next time I go there, I’d love to hang with you all *shopppping!!!!!!* 😀

SALE ALERT SALE ALERT : Matisse is having its storewide sale from August 30 onwards!! (photo shows pretty sisters and owners Denise and Monique) Their ostrich clutch, which is a must-have, is now 15% off– and this, I can say with conviction, is already a steal! If you are a baghag, you must have one exotic leathered bag, and Matisse’s ostrich clutch with crystal embellishments will do rather nicely 🙂 Matisse is located at Unit 5-A, The Zone, Malugay Street Makati City. Tel. no. 893-5313.

P.S. MC is back in town from her KL trip, and she surprised me with a beautiful Swarovski– encrusted bag made by bag designer Amina Aranaz- Alunan of Aranaz. **SHAMELESS FREELOADING HAG ALERT!!!* I was sooo bowled over. The bag is just gorgeous!! I am totally bling-blinded by the amazing details on the bag. Thank you SOOOO MUCH, MC and glowing mom-to-be AAA for this beautiful clutch! I will sooo love it forever! (By the way, Ms.AA, I sure hope to see more of the Swarovski embellished bags at Aranaz :D) Aranaz is located at Rockwell Powerplant Mall, 2nd floor, Lifestyles section.

P.P.S *Shriek!!* My white Goyard Fidji is ready!! *BRAG BRAG BRAG hehe, so pelt me with rocks, I looove my new bag!* I had it handpainted with green-cream-green stripes and it looks soo yummy! (That’s my super nice SA’s hand 😀 Sorry the bag looks washed out in the photo, but there are handpainted monograms 🙂 It’s just not visible on the photo!) The backside of the bag is painted with my initials *cough VAIN!* But oye, just so you hags know, this ain’t a newly purchased bag, so there– my bag tickerfactory for “last new bag” remains at 1 month + 🙂

P.P.P.S. Don’t you hate not having money for those extra luxe stuff? Case in point. This biatchin’ self-righteous, braggart of a baghag got offered this stunning and jawdropping Hermes 42cm JPG shoulder birkin in bleu roi porosus crocodile leather.*NIGHTMARES FOREVER!!!* I can only say this– if I only had some $$ lying around, I would’ve snatched this, asap. But alas, I can dream forever and still the moolah won’t be enough for this baby! *CARDIAC ARREST at the price too!* If you notice– my last new bag is already one month old! So, there. Too darn bad *booohooooo* (Tsk, some lucky hag will be bringing this baby home for sure– and it AINT ME!!!! *Hmm do I want me to sell the house I live in, and give up the kids’ education for this? Muwahahaha.. No thanks! I’m sure I won’t die without this bag *muwahahaha* I’ll just have nightmares about it forever *bawl*) And since this was my nightmare, I decided to share my misery and send the photo over to BB *muwahahaha… Misery just really LOOOOVES company *

I hope you all have nightmares from this too *muwahahahaha ok I’m being really mean!!* And Psssst, whoever bought this bag *and so happens to read this post* better COME FORWARD and COME CLEAN! We want MORE photos!!!! Let the Hermes bleu roi crocodile birkin nightmare live on!!! 🙂

  1. Nice Goyard Mrs. T. I ordered my red croisiere from Paris and am told they can still do crown designs. I had mine customized with a crown but it will take 3 months. Too bad it wont be ready by the time I go to Paris in late October. If anyone is interested they should email or call Goyard Paris.

  2. hey Mrs. T,
It’s funny. We just got the territorial franchise for Pepper Lunch and will sign in Bangkok end of this month. Will open in Rockwell next year. We already have a space.
Hope you keep your promise and dine every week!
    cheers,
    cecile

  3. Hi there,

I came across your blog because it turned up when I googled Goyard (looking for a legit distributor in Manila / Singapore).
Was compelled to leave you a message after reading your profile. I must say, you are a breath of fresh air for listing down 2 of your “pathetic pastimes”. People who actually do it would NEVER own up to it (I know I normally wouldn’t. Haha.).
I learned something new today, thanks to you. Kudos!

    M.

PS: So, is there a Goyard distributor here in Manila or Sing? I’ll be at the latter this weekend. Thanks!
