Travelog: Random Shots in Tokyo

I think I’ve pretty much covered the places we went to in Tokyo, so now, I am throwing in a few more random shots that I took (hehehe mostly food).

Enjoy 🙂

Negitoro with ikura rice bowl. I asked for a poached egg as well. It was soooo good!

They look like mini crepes. I didn’t know what they were but I was too cheap to buy a box. Now I regret. I think this is only available for the Sakura festival.

More sweets. I love how the Japanese pack their confections. Makes everything so tempting to buy!

Sushi candy. While they look great, the ones I got didn’t taste that great. I guess I just don’t know how to eat candy 😉

I still kick myself for not getting these. These are strawberries with red bean I think. Mochi. The thing is, I am no fan of red bean, and that was what held me back.

Do you know Milky candy? 🙂 There’s actually a Milky shop right across Hermes in Ginza!

More sweets and confections from Milky

At Shinjuku, we took to this vending machine ramen place right next to Isetan. It wasn’t “great” but it did its job– fill up hungry stomachs!! 🙂

In one of our many train rides, I saw this. It’s a specific car of the train designated or women only. My husband says it’s to protect women from the “stray” hands of some men during rush hour. How true his explanation is, I have no clue (because I obviously didn’t bother to research hahaha).

Doggie cutouts on the window display at Isetan. Cuteness!!

Another window display at Wako, Ginza. Made out of paper too!

At Akihabara, check out the mohawk of that guy. It was sky high! I wanted to know what kind of gel he uses 😉

Tae Taiyaki. Whatever these things are, they’re shaped like fishes 🙂 And there’s a long line. Of course, being a Filipino, sometimes you have to laugh at the spellings of these stores… 🙂 *I know, I know, crab mentality, but hehe I can’t help it!!* Kidding aside, I think I will try this next time I’m back in Tokyo, and hopefully there won’t be any more lines when I go try this. I have no patience when it comes to food (especially when I’m VERY hungry).

Michael Jackson on top of this ad board!!! The gloved one is still alive in the hearts of the Japanese people *and in our hearts 🙂 :)*
And last but not least, I have to end this post with a bag of course 🙂 A Chanel camelia- stitched classic flap bag. It’s gorgeous!!!
If you chance upon this bag in your travels, GET IT! It’s really so beautiful!! *No, I don’t regret getting it because I am far too broke to buy a new Chanel bag in Tokyo (more expensive than anywhere else in the world… or wait, maybe it’s at par in price as Russia)*
I am being good this year– only spending on travel + food, and then some 😀 That “and then some” reveal will happen soon– and remember I’m throwing a contest for that? Details tomorrow! And again here’s a hint– buying that made me a REALLLY HAPPY camper because it reminded me of my wonderful childhood!! 🙂 🙂

P.S. Looking through all my photos with food just made me hungry. I think I’ll scrounge around for some noodles in our cupboard 😉 Are any of you peeps “midnight snackers” by chance? 🙂 *knowing some of you are midnight snackers would greatly lessen my guilt of eating at this hour hahahaha*

  1. I am! 🙂 I have to arrange a few things after this and I’ll be having tofu for snack afterwards. I’ve been craving for tofu since early evening.

    Since stuff are most expensive in Japan/Russia, if I may ask, where’s the best (read: most affordable. haha!) place to purchase bags in the whole wide world? 🙂

  2. good for me…my boss is a jap so we always get sweet treats whenever she arrives from vacation in japan…sometimes together with small japanese paper doll!

  3. Your DH was right about the women’s only train. We have the same rule in the MRT, the first car is just for women, kids and the elderly.
    When it’s rush hour, it gets sooooo crowded, you’re really body-to-body with the other passengers. Hands can and will stray, both intentionally and unintentionally.

  4. Hello Ms. Baghag! What your husband said about Japanese men in trains is true! Last year, my family went to Tokyo and rode the train to the Odaiba district. My sister was shocked when one man tried to rub his groin on my sister’s arm! To think the train was barely full. At first, she didn’t mind it because she thought it was unintentional but then he attempted to try it again! She gave him the devil stare and he immediately left on the next stop.

    Anyway, I love your blog! I never fail to read yours on my RSS =)

  5. @AinaLuna: Thank you!!!

    @PBB: LoL

    @mylastblog: Oh my that’s horrific! I would’ve screamed! your sister was so brave to give the man a stare! Glad she was ok! And thanks for reading 🙂 xx

    @Kat: Exactly what mylastblog just said. Yikes!!

    @sweettreats from japan: You’re sooo lucky 🙂

    @Mav: New bag but forgot to declare new bag before I left for tokyo lol

    @Kitty: I think Germany and France are the most affordable. Singapore’s very good too, but Tokyo and Russia are 2 of the most expensive places to buy designer bags

    @freshmess: You should totally go!!! 🙂 You’ll be sooo happy with the ramen there 😀

  6. the japanese are so good with packaging talaga. also with their food, you eat with your eyes too.

    btw, mrs. t, my eyes went as large as dinner plates this morning when i saw your comments on my blog! i was SO starstruck hehehe. and i can imagine how happy your kiddo was with the Pingu toy. 🙂

  7. Mrs. T, isn’t is “The Taiyaki?” There’s one here in HK too. Admittedly, I thought it was “Tae Taiyaki” at first and shuddered 😛
