Travelog: On Etihad to Europe

Our annual Easter holiday trip with my family took us to Europe 🙂

We flew on Etihad Airways on the recommendation of CV Travel. This was our first time to take this airline, but we’ve heard so many good things about it, so we took it. It was happiness for me because I get to fly business again 😉 *Woohoo freeloading!*

Our flight left just after midnight. This was my seat. I love the legroom 😀 *hehe pardon the photo of my feet*

The coolest thing about Etihad’s business class seats are that they all fully recline– ” 180 degrees into a fully flat, comfortable, 6 ft 1-inch Business Bed”– you can actually sleep “flat”! And this much I can say– I skipped all major meals and just slept like a baby on the flight 🙂

When I woke up, my stomach was growling, so I had some scones. The Etihad kitchen was open throughout the night. There was even lobster flavored popcorn and macadamia nut ice cream on the menu!

We had a layover in Abu Dhabi. The business/ first class lounge may not have had a great selection of food, but it was still pretty awesome– they offer free massage services, of which I gladly availed.

The Duty Free Shops below the lounge have brands like Hermes, Burberry, Fendi, Rolex, Cartier, Mont Blanc, Loewe, Ferragamo, Boss, Bulgari, Jimmy Choo. Pretty good collection of premier designer brands actually.

Hermes‘ jypsiere bag in ciel. Price in Euros: EUR 5175 (Php 337k+/-)

Hermes has just opened a boutique few months ago in Abu Dhabi, so even their duty free boutique was actually pretty well-stocked. I’m amazed.

The rest of the Duty Free shopsIt’s nowhere near the size of the Duty Free stores at the Dubai International Airport, but is equally impressive design-wise.

Next stop, Paris! So stay tuned, peeps 🙂 I’m back on regular blogging 🙂

  1. anony: re travel company, I actually first talked to the owner when she was still with another agency, so perhaps that has something to do with it? Did you try to ask for the owner? 🙂 We’ve availed of her services for all our major trips and so far they all went without a hitch. Drop me an email, maybe I can help you?

  2. hello Mrs. T., i hope your feet are in much better condition now that you’re wearing a pair of Papillio slippers. 🙂
regarding the travel agency (i got reminded of this while also organizing photos of our European travel), thank you for taking time to reply and offer help to work things out with them. perhaps on our next trip, we could try to reconsider their services again (i’m begging my husband when all is safe from the H1N1 flu. 😉 ). of course, there’s always a second chance. 🙂
take care and keep the blogs coming!
