Travelog: Nordstrom Rack+ Shoe Pavillon+ Marshall’s

Before I left San Francisco, we had to make a “pit stop” for the outlets, including Nordstrom Rack at Marina Square (it’s off Hwy 880).

At Nordstrom Rack, I found some Marc Jacobs bags, as well as a TON of these Betsey Johnsons.
Anne Klein and Kate Spade shoes (The silver AKs look sooo much like Tory Burch at first glance. I wonder if this “look” of Anne Klein got her a cease and desist letter from the folks at Burch) Meanwhile those Kate Spade flower power flats are just funky. But nah, don’t wanna hoard shoes haha.

And speaking of Kate Spade, this barrel weave bag was reduced to US$140 is actually made by Aranaz! I’d rather give my money to Aranaz— it’s more original that way 🙂 Funny thing is, I was so in love with the premier collection of Kate Spade (the basket/ beach tote weaves with flowers), and they all turned out to be made by Aranaz! Go Filipino 🙂

For US$85… What is the brand of this bag??? I searched high and low but alas, there was no bag tag, which led me to think this really has no brand… Hehehe ding dong are you Goyard (wannabe)? Hehe…

Andrew Marc satchel for US$250. Quite a nice bag in my opinion. Not heavy too!
I also went over to Shoe Pavillon. They have tons and tons of shoes there. I was really a happy camper because I found a pair of Addidas slippers which I had hesitated to buy in Manila when I had seen them. I recall Manila was selling them for something like Php2,800 (US$60). I found them for US$24! What else was rather interesting at Shoe Pavillon was, they were selling Prada sunglasses– en masse! I’m talking a whole boxful of Prada sunglasses. They weren’t really my kind of glasses as they looked rather flimsy, but still, they were selling designer glasses! I was in disbelief actually (my bad).

All the more when I saw these bags being sold at Shoe Pavillon— a Pink Prada, and a monogram Fendi baguette! The Prada cost something like $599, and the Fendi was $400 (or something like that).

There also were Gucci bags! That large Gucci bag was $699.

What an interesting store Shoe Pavillon was! I was thinking only DSW would sell designer merchandise, but apparently Shoe Pavillon is following suit. I hope next time they stock up on more designer bags– haha wishful thinking, maybe a Chanel or two? 😀

And at Marshall’s, the only interesting bag I found was this bag by Guia’s for US$130. Nice bag! I would honestly not mind schlepping this bag– those multiple exterior pockets are a dream!!! And I’ve never heard of this brand before too. Just goes to show that there are really a lot of nice brands out there waiting for us baghags to be discovered.

Anyway for my next post, I will be blogging about FOOD 🙂 So stay tuned yet again! Hope you hags have been enjoying the Travelog!

  1. did i read wrong? did you just say that DSW sells designer stuff? (eg. gucci) because the DSW near me doesn’t have any gucci! i wish there was a nordstrom rack where i live… the only good high end outlet dept. stores in my area are off 5th and last call!

  2. Hello Jackie T! That Goyard wanna-be bag (as I wrote in my blog)is the Jana Feifer for Love Luggage Joint Logo Tote, also available at nordstrom.com for US148. I guess that bag you saw was on sale. But yes, I agree, it’s a Goyard wanna-be.

  3. hey baghags! Thank you so much for identifying that tote for me. Again, without your help, I wouldn’t have been able to figure out who made that bag. I guess it’s already pretty reasonable for its price, however it’s got too many scuffs already. And we like our bags brand spanking new (looking) 😀 But I guess those battle scars somehow gave the bag that “I’m a toughie” look 🙂

  4. Hi Mrs. Jackie T!
I came back from my HK trip and despite my bf finding the Speedy 30 a bugly bag, I finally bought it! I think I can now officially call myself a baghag. I just saw my credit card bill. hehe. starvation here i come! I have yet to test drive my new baby. You were one of the “forces” that have influenced me to get it. So, Thank You! and thank you for your great bag reviews!!! 🙂 I can finally pass on something of value to my children in the future…!

  5. I found a ton of fake Guccis at Shoe Pavillion so beware!!! I reported them but they never went away. They had some funky Goach’s too (LOOKS LIKE A CROSS BETWEEN A COACH AND A GUCCI LOGO) for like 300.00. I wouldnt buy a fake for 5 dollars let alone 500!!!
BEWARE shoe pavillion and DSW! If its not a dealer sample sale or last chance sale (ie shopbop/bluefly/nordstrom rack) you can assume its a high priced fake.
