Travelog: Flea Market in Lucca!

After Montecatini, we went to Lucca, which is also part of Tuscany.

It was a nice, laid back town and I felt that everyone who was there was also on vacation πŸ™‚ Like this man πŸ™‚

And this little girl who was dancing with her doll as music played in the piazza.

One of the many churches in Lucca
Beautiful architecture. Note the lancet “arches” on the brick building

The best thing about being in Lucca was the weekend market! πŸ™‚ All these antiques were out on display from different vendors. If you must know, I loooove scouring through antiques– I’ve found many good pieces in markets like this one!

I would’ve bought that mini bureau (or what is that called– the one with floral details) if I could find a way to ship it to the Philippines πŸ™

There’s a lot of junk, but there will always be treasure πŸ™‚ I found my “treasure” in one of these stalls above.

Meanwhile, my brothers and I wanted this chair too πŸ™‚

To show our love for all things British πŸ™‚

It’s a nod to the upcoming Royal Wedding hahaha πŸ™‚

Ahhh it was such a beautiful day in Lucca. I wish my weekends would entail these kinds of trips!

And this was what I brought home πŸ™‚

I have been collecting these mini glass jewellery cases for some time now and it’s getting so hard to find them– and they’re getting rather expensive too πŸ™
This particular piece dates back to the 1870s- 1880s πŸ˜‰ The last one I scored was at an antiques fair in Beaune, France. So finding this piece was a real score and is a most welcome addition to my little antique glass cases family πŸ™‚
