Travelog: Bangkok Shopping!!

HOT!!!!!! It’s sooooo hot in Manila now. Talk about summmmmer…. All I want to do is to take a loooong dip in the pool (like stay there the whole day haha) so I won’t sweat. It’s almost 100 deg Fah.– the country almost has a slight fever already hehe (37 deg Celsius). Actually if it rained today, we might all get sick. Super hot temp + rain = cough/ cold. Yeah well, if not the pool, today is also perfect for hanging out in aa fully air- conditioned place– think mall/ movie theater… or F.A.M.E. at the World Trade Center! F.A.M.E. is currently ongoing til tomorrow I believe. You’re looking at furnitures, fashion accessories, home accessories, all for export. And they’re all there– World Trade Center and PICC to be exact. Super F.A.M.E. organizer RG says this is the best one yet– so I am definitely going tomorrow 🙂

Here’s another thing to do today and tomorrow– from 2pm to 6pm, there will be yet another preview and sale of The Imelda Collection at Tropez (I think it’s beside Grappas). Wine and nibblers will be served 🙂 So if you want to take a look at some fine jewellery pieces as well as fashion accessories as well, then this is the place to go. WINE!!! *Hmmm on a hot day? WHY NOT!* 😀

Going back to Bangkok (oh dear, no I have not abandoned my Bangkok post!), we dedicated a day to hang in the Mall areas of Bangkok since the last few days were all about sightseeing *scream Tourists!!!*

We went to MBK Mall (Ma Bun Krong). It’s pretty much like Greenhills. I love this mall, so much so that I completely forgot to take my camera out to get photos. That plus I was with both kids, so it was seemingly impossible for me to get a grip on them both while taking photos. It was a pretty crowded place, and we also bumped into ImeeM and MarkC there! This is a good mall to buy your souvenirs 🙂

Anyway, here’s where the real fun begins– after MBK, we went to Siam Paragon Mall. I was talking to a friend of mine about Siam Paragon Mall, and I do so declare that this mall is the very best one I’ve ever been to. This is truly a world-class mall– even Pacific Place in HK or IFC Mall can’t compare. I was really stumped (well because also of the Ocean World right below the shops).

Mrs.T= kid let loose in a candy store! *Giddy with excitement*!! Stores here include:
Emilio Pucci. Love the clothes. Perfect for summer with a white tote 🙂

Balenciaga. There’s a nice Cornflower blue city with the new gold studs. Yummmy! And also a grass green Crocodile one!
Gucci. Hmm.. I’m liking the resort-ish clothes. But then you already all know I don’t really fancy paying $$$ for clothes. (Ahem that Balenciaga dress was an isolated incident. Pfffft… tsk now I’m reminded of that dress again. Tsk *bawl*)

There was the floral pelham bag. I’m not liking the red, but I like the green– which they don’t have.

Tod’s. I haven’t bought anything from Tod’s for over 3 years– my last purchase there was a pair of driving shoes. Looong ago!

Mulberry. Ooh check out that Bayswater carryall… I would’ve loved Mulberry Bayswater had it not been for the fact that the bag is just real heavy!

Versace. Check it out, doesn’t that bag look like the Monroe bag of Gucci??

Chanel *ta-dahhh!* It was no surprise to me that they don’t have the large classic flap (modern 2.55 with the double C turnlock). Not only that, the prices of their medium classic have just gone up to US$2,600! Is that an insane price or what?! *More reason for us peeps to go for a preowned Chanel, really!*

They have these bags that look like LV’s mini noe.. only this bag is made of leather and has the famous logo stitched outside. They also have the expandable totes– but I didn’t see the classic CC flap tote that’s expandable. Their shoes, bags, sunglasses, and watches have all increased prices much to my consternation.

Chloe. They have the new Bay quilted bag. It’s really pretty up close!

Jimmy Choo. Love the shoes but not the bags. Sorry Tamara Mellon!

and Hermes. Ahhhh Hermes. *The Mount Everest of everything luxurious in bags hehe*They have the toile-leather white bolide, white jige, 32cm etoupe kelly, 35cm black kelly (which was already reserved actually for someone in the “waitlist”), blue brighton bolide, and a few plumes in turquoise and violet. Yummy. Oh and of course how could I forget, rose shocking plume and fuchsia ostrich plume!! *melts!* Yes, call it brand worshipping and call it extremely shallow. So what. That’s what makes some people happy and me seeing the boutique made me happy! So go ahead, gripe about brand worshipping and dampen my mood if you can *goad goad goad*. Hehe as long as I’m in the company of luxury, I am haaaaaaappppppyyyyyyyy!! *shallllowwwwww!!*

There also was Dolce and Gabbana (they have some nice bags!!), Armani (or did I imagine that), Bulgari, and other luxury brands of which shops I failed to take photos of because I was really just overwhelmed, to be honest with you. They also had this huge bookstore, Kinokuniya where you can just drop off your hubbies *haha while you shop haha*. And oh yeah a floor of HOT HOT Cars– including the Lamborghini Gallardo! Yes– it was THERE on display, and for sale!!!

All that walking around made me a lil hungry, so we all went down with the kids and DH and my DSIL (with her kids) to have something to eat. I chose to eat Ripe mango with Pandan Sticky Rice. It was SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!

We got back to our hotel rather late already, but we decided to head out again for dinner. On the menu? Beef! More on that tomorrow 🙂 *If you looove food as much as I do, then you won’t wanna miss the food post tomorrow 😀 I still drool thinking about that meal!*

P.S. My photographer friend TJ and I had a loooooong chat last night, and girl, I definitely owe you a cuppa joe soon– you hafta free up your schedule to accommodate me!! *:D*

  1. hello MRS. T! I have a silly question, Im a new MAC convert and Im trying to figure out where the hyperlink is in blogger… I had it in my screen when I was still using Windows… Any thoughts?? Thanks Thanks

  2. hey new mac user, try to download and use Firefox browser instead of Safari then, you will be able to see all the tools in your screen just like Windows. Had that same dilemma before. Hope this helps. *wink*
